Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park is one of my favorite destinations in Thailand. I have visited the high plateau 6 or 7 times since 1991. I last visited in Feb 2017. I lived in Thailand for three years. I speak Thai. I worked for the Thai gov't as a volunteer. Once my host paid the fee (of which I... More

This national park is a bit different because of the unusual rock formations. Its very beautiful up in the mountains but a bit diffcult to get to without personal transport. You can get a bus to nakhonthai then hitch hike.Unfortunately foreigners have to pay about 400-500 baht for entrance.say u r a student and they may give you a discount.

If you're interested in finding out about Thai history, it is worth visiting this national park. Communist gorilla forces were stationed here in the past. Some of their huts are still standing. If you're interested in nature, it is also worth a visit. Jaw-dropping views of the national park from certain view points. Possibly the best I've seen in Thailand.... More

We weren't that interested in the history of the place but found the 3.5 km loop trail fascinating for other reasons. The trail is about 12 km from the Nakhon Thai side of the park (maybe 25 km from the other entrance). You walk on rocks of an unusual shape and see great views along with the historical sites (e.g.... More

Phu Hin Rong Kla (PHRK) national park is a beautiful place to visit specially during winter time. The best time to visit is in January where the Himalayan Cherry (pink Sakura) is at full bloom. It's not crowded as the access is rather inconvenient. The best way to reach PHRK is by renting a car from Phitsanulok (or car +... More

The park has different very nice landscapes. The rocks washed out by the water look like small valleys and mountains. There is also a lot of history around. The KPT had their HQ up here. As a tourist you have to pay 500b to visit.
