Good main island beach, lots of options
Long, main beach of the island. It's where most of the nightlife, restaurants and bars are. If you've travelled around, you've seen the same thing in most islands. This is more low key, a less developed island and main beach. Great places to chill or party, whatever you're into.

Typical Thailand beach with garbage and sewage
Smells like sewage and plenty of garbage in and around the water. The diving boats drop liters upon liters of oil into the water everyday so you are swimming in that as well. The restaurants and bars along the beach are pretty low quality catering to drunk teenagers. Overall, it's your typical Thai beach. Don't go with high expectations.

    Buzzy not busy
Just loved everything about this place. The vibe was buzzy without being busy. Plenty of hotels and restaurants of various types from luxury to backpacker along the beach. Clean sand. Clear water what’s not to love?

My favourite beach in the world. I found it breathtaking when I first arrived. Relaxed, the smell of weed in the air. Swings and the beyond colourful sunsets. Good food, good prices, good cocktails, amazing settings. We went just after covid and it was super quiet. We went back the following year and it was much busier are beautiful and a wonderful place to wonder the streets at night. A once in a lifetime beach. Or for us a twice in a lifetime and I’ll be returning at some point in the future. It’s like Jurassic park.

This beach is quite nice to come for a swim or especially at sunset time. There is many nice restaurants to enjoy a drink or dinner watching the sunset.

Good for the sunset but not good for swimming or snorkeling.
Too many bars and restaurants, can be noisy.

I stayed at Blue Tao Beach Hotel along Sairee Beach during my time in Koh Tao.
There are a few restaurants that's open during this covid time. it would have been a lot better in normal time.
the beach around my hotel was very clean and there r a few diving shops that's open.
the beach is facing west so u will be catching very nice sunset over the sea in the evening.
the hotels have beach chairs, standing surfboards which are rented by the hour.
u have to pay for these if u want to use them.
