A gorgeous beach with powdery soft sand, calm sea and half a dozen restaurants/bars. We went to Crystal Day and Salad Hut for cocktails and food ... the staff in both are amazing, so friendly and happy.

This was our second stay at Had Salad and surely the last! We had to witness an old, friendly labrador dying slowly over 5 days, getting fits and foaming at the mouth. We were extremely upset that no one bothered to help the dog. A resort staff member told us the dog is being poisoned by order by the resort owner of Had Salad Villa. We called Phangan Info after the animal rescue people just left the dog on the beach as they could not help him, a very helpfull lady at Phangan info called back to say it was not the owner of Had Salad Villa that ordered the poisening but the owner of two resorts down the beach. She would not name the resort but I can count to two. We were told by the resort staff that this happens all the time! it was a very distressful experience for my daughter and I wish it on no one to experience such agony in a animal. Surely these resorts make enough money to have these unwanted animals put down in a more humane way and definitely not let us, visitors with small children witness this cruelty. I will go to Koh Toa or Samui for my next visit where there is proper care for animals!

In our opinion one of the best beaches on Koh Phangan. Good balance between liveliness and rest/relaxation. Not overcrowded. Good massage on the beach. We once stayed here at Salad Hut, which was a wonderful place. This time we stayed on another beach, but had to come back to haad salad. Beautiful sunsets and one of the best beaches for snorkelling (get a canoe to get a bit further away from the beach).

Some 20 mins from Thongsala is Haad Salad. 600m white sand beach. Coral Reef is 300m from the shore and the bay can be shallow in places. So the water level is at its best for swimming in high season between December and April. Lots of coral and fish. Some of the best on Koh Phangan. Will see the usual suspects. Best time for Fish i have found is late afternoon before sunset when the fish tend to be feeding and any visiting boats or divers have left and the reef is quiter. You may even see Turtles if you are lucky.

The sunsets are amazing here as it is on the West Coast. So Beautiful.

There a numerous hotels along the beachfront. All reasonably priced. Food is excellent at Villa Cha Cha and Haad Salad Villa hotels. Food prices are more on expensive side but in line with all hotels on the beach 150 THB for green curry etc.

There are always cheaper places to eat on the roadsides in the villages. We enjoyed some really great food in Baan Tai (Ann Restaurant) and Haad Rin area. And also street food is a must at one of the markets in Thongsala or Chaloklum. So if you have a scooter you can enjoy these where food typically about 50 to 60 THB per dish. Thongsala also has a Saturday Night Market.

OK Massage is on the beach and is very very good. We had Thai Massage and Deep Tissue Massage with Suu and Alin. Both exceptional and would recommend them both. Very talented ladies. Best massage ever had. And have had loads in and around Thailand. They also do oil massages, beauty, pedicures, head massage, and run a masseurs training programme. Average cost of massage 300thb per hour. We often paid for 2 hours to get the most out of deep tissue massage.

We rented a scooter from out hotel Villa Cha Cha for 250thb per day which is going rate for the island for 125i Click Honda scooter. Mr Pon rental. We did not need to leave a deposit and did not need to leave passport with rental company as the hotel had arranged it and they had our passport details. Roads on Koh Phangan are very good with road signs and speed limits. Better than roads on Koh Tao. Care is needed if you have never ridden scooter before or if you are a novice rider. Experienced riders will have no problems on the roads and even the dreaded Haad Rin road is not as bad as everyone makes out, you just have to be careful and watch for traffic as you would on any road. Good drive is the road to Thong Nai Pan. This is more dangerous than Haad Rin road as it is full of steep roads and lots of twists and turns, but you will be rewarded with the jungle scenery. My bf said it is a great "bikers" road.

If you use taxi on island, prices are fixed at approxiamtely 200thb per person each way from Thongsala depending on destination and can be as low as 150 or as high as 400 if you are going to full moon party. For example, taxi from Thongsala Pier to Haad Salad will be 200 per person. But from Haad Salad to Mae Head/Koh Ma is 150.

We spent a long time deciding where to stay on the island as there are many options however since exploring every beach we are 100% happy with our choice.
The beach is beautiful with a mis of sand and small corals. There are many restaurants so great to be able to eat out somewhere different every night. The water is shallow and never really goes beyond waist deep which was perfect for out family with two small children.

The beach is kept very clean and the sunsets are perfect.

We spent four weeks at Awe Resort villas on Baan Tai beach, but visited Salad beach for five times because this is great location for snorkeling and diving. Worth spending the whole day, including lunch and/or dinner at one of the restaurants on the beach. And massage!

While we were preparing for our trip this beach was on every must see to visit list, so we went there and maximum we did is just had a quick dip to refresh and continued our ride around the island. The beach is devastated by construction and tourists, the water was relatively clean but the sand was not pleasant at all. Head to others, more exotic spots!

Perfect for families. Shallow waters and no undercurrents. Many good restaurants along the beach. Quiet.

From the varios beaches I explored in KP, Salad Beach was my favorite! Beach is big enough during high tide and offers little tropical sandbanks for sunbathing during low tide. Sand is light yellow, in parts white, soft and clean.
Its a small bay with gorgeous sunsets and peaceful restaurants/bars (not noisy!) for all tastes and expenses. On the far other end of Cookies Salad Htl is a beautiful beachbar, of the kind you would find many years ago...loved it!

We saw Haad Yao, Haad Salad and Mae Haad. This was the most beautiful one. Just know that there are a lot of families here and that the water is really shallow.
