Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We rented a scooter and toured the island in our own time as we have bad experiences of tours.

We parked near to the waterfall, at an old blind guys house, who sells drinks from a kiosk... anyway if you head out early enough you should get this beautiful spot to yourselves. Grab a beer or two, dip in to the water. Bliss.

The waterfall is located north Khao ra view point about 620 m up. Bring swimming gear, enough drinking water and the usual sun protective gear. We were advised food cannot be taken into the park, therefore fill your stomachs beforehand either. The walk from to the fall is approximately 1and half K. meters through nice lush jungle, following the stream of clear water. You do not have to be fit to master the walk, however, people requiring walking aids will not be able to make it unless they are absolutely determined. The path is not paved, it is a natural hiking trail covered with smaller rocks, some steps to climb and tree roots running across. The fall itself is about 30m high and ends in a nice pool for swimming which then flows out as a small creek. Especially after rainfall the current in the creek can be strong, but ropes have been fixed across the creek to hold on to. When we were there the rainy season had just finished and the water was abundant, crystal clear and refreshing. Definitely worth a visit. Plan 3-4 hours a relaxing time out at the water fall.

We have been there on the days after the full moon party, the place was packed with people... three days later and you can have it all for yourself.

We arrived at the beach, which is entered through the national park. We explained at the entrance that we had already been to the park a few days ago, and now we wanted to visit the beach. To which we were told to pay 100 baht per person, there is no free ride. The beaches belong to the king, on what basis are fees charged for visiting them?
By the way, the beach is not bad, but there is nothing to do in the park. The waterfall is a joke, the lookout sucks.

The waterfall was a tough climb, but well worth it. We went in January and had glorious weather just after very very heavy rain so the pools were deep and the water flowing. Our choice of footwear for the day was possibly foolish but we did manage in flip flops with some tretcherous clambers over rocks, there are also parts with steps which definitely helped! Views were amazingly beautiful and this was a highlight of our trip...

To reward ourselves we had our meal after at 'the kitchen' a restaurant at the entrance where we received appalling service, lacklustre food with tiny portions (much smaller than indicated in the pictures on the menu especially for the tortillas) so swerve that as its really not worth it!

The first time I visited this waterfall it was July and there wasnt really anything there. This time I visited it in January and WOW it is spectacular!!

When you enter the park you follow the dirt path and you will see and waterfall on your righy. Keep following the path and you will start to see the next waterfall. We climbed all the way up to the top and were rewarded with a stunning view of Koh phangan. The water itself was so clear and there were pools you could sit in a cool off. With out a doubt its one of the best things you can do on the island!

20 baht to park your scooter then 100 baht per adult to enter the park despute reports of it being free entry.
Theres a nature trail that visits 4 waterfalls but theres not much water at this time so dont expect spectacular views. Look for the big blue plastic water hose running up the side of the stream to see how much water could be coming down!
The walkways start gently sloping then some steps then some rope strung between trees to hang onto while you scramble up muddy slopes or roots from trees or up rocky sections. Very steep in places and flip flops definitely NOT recommended.
Halfway up you can divert up to the view point which is good although west facing so very hazy in the afternoon. Expect to shed gallons going up here but there is someone selling water at 20 baht per litre at the top!
Recommend cutting back to the second waterfall rather than heading right for the top as those coming down said theres not much water to see.
Also the viewing areas at each fall get taken over by those in swimming gear and who think they have the right to take residence and so no one can really see the falls anyway.
