We had a moped and followed google maps, until we got to a dirt track. Another couple were doing the same, so we followed them. It got very bumpy and sand piles made it slippery.
We got to the bike park and it said you can call for a 4x4 to come pick u up for 100baht per person.
We decided to walk, it was very uneven and steep. We got to where the road splits to beach 1 or beach 2.
Luckily a 4x4 truck stopped and we all hopped in the back, being given a free bumpy massage to the resort. They didn't work there, so that ride was free!
The beach itself was ok. Not too much to do. A few restaurants and shops. The weather was a bit windy, so didn't brave the water.
I heard the hike from Chakolum is 1 hour.
And there are water taxi boats that also go to bottle beach.

White sand a crystal clear water, however the beach is packed with people so not so relaxing. Really hard to get to and from too, at certain times of day the long tails can’t come fully to shore so u have to swim out to them even if it’s with luggage. However all the restaurants and bars along the beach are relatively cheap and have good food (best is on the left side of the beach at Smile bungalows imo).

Reached via a snorkelling long tail boat trip this bay is pretty with soft sand and clear water. There are several bars and a few places to stay which look like small bungalows. No public chairs or umbrellas. Nice for a couple of hours.

We have visited bottle beach a few times, and it never disappoints. Clear water. Beautiful setting. We rode our motorbikes in from the east, parked up the top and walked the 1.9km in. Slippery gravel, so wear good shoes. You can call a taxi for 100bht per person from the top. We paid this to get back. Well worth the effort, as one of the best beaches on Koh Phanghan.

Lovely beach, clear water, beautiful. Very basic accommodation, you can pay more for air con. 600bht for a night.with a fan.
Cheaper is available as low as 350bht.
Beer and food pretty expensive. I've also had a bad stomach since returning so would probably do vegan diet if I returned.

We hiked from Santhiya Resort to Bottle Beach viewpoint (40minutes, medium level). From viewpoint through the jungle to the Bottle Beach (1km, max level hard, snickers recommended). From Bottle Beach took boat taxi to Thong Nai Pan beach. Perfect trip!
Bottle beach is not so crowded. They serve great mojitos and has a great vibe there. Can get out of there with boat, taxi jeep or by foot.
Absolutely hidden gem in that side of the island.

The best beach on the island! It’s highly inaccessible but that could be a good thing. Hike here from nearby beaches to have a great day out. The beach itself is stunning and the water crystal clear. Great place to visit and tick off the list of beautiful things to see on koh panghan

This beach may have been nice once, maybe years ago. But now it is a literal dumpster. Garbage piled up and down the beach. Burning garbage behind the hotels. Broken glass. Brown, murky water.
Don’t come. It’s ruined.

This is a great workout!!...do NOT expect a leisurely stroll on a trail, rather, it is a full-on rigorous hike up and hike down. It is HOT and humid so bring tons of water and wear good, stable shoes with good treads!! Wear bug spray and go early enough that the sun isn't setting during the return leg of your hike.
It took us an hour & 15 min to hike there, and an hour to hike back....we also stopped once we made it to Bottle Beach for a swim, a break and a small meal. The beach is actually named due to the water bottles that mark the trail along the way.
To get to the start of the trail, continue past Coconut Beach Bungalows at Haad Khom and park at the small parking area at the very end of the paved road. Walk down the hill continuing on the dirt road.... about 40 meters, give or take, and on the right of the road there is a small path starting up the hill. There is no sign or marker to signify the trail....just a small path....start climbing and you will start to see plastic water bottles stuck on the trees marking the way!!
(Do not go by the Thai wooden sign at the parking lot....that is not the trail!)
Once at Bottle Beach, you'll love it. Beautiful beach...long and sandy, not too many people, and the Bottle Beach resort has a great restaurant with friendly staff, good food, and cold waters and beers!!! Be sure to refill with waters for the hike back and put on more bug spray.
Also we're pretty sure if you don't want to do the hike in the reverse direction, there'll be a long tail that would be willing to take you back.
Be sure to stop and look around when you take water breaks on your hike as there are some great views to be had. You'll also feel like you've sweat out about 2kg of water weight by the end of the day, so have fun and enjoy the workout!!!

How do I get there from Haadrin or Baantai ?
Written 21 January 2019
HELLO! I am about to book at Bottle Beach1 Resort this up coming week. Planning to drive into Koh PhangNa with my 4 wheel drive vehicle. The question is from the pier once arrive into the island about how far of a drive to there and how difficult or road condition to get into Bottle beac Resort?...(since it is rainy season). Reply asap if anyone has latest update info please. Just planning the trip w my girls.

Hi there - well - we have done the trip to bottle beach on scooter and we didn't experience any problems at all. The road from the pier is regular concrete based all the way and is estimated to take 30 to 45 minutes. It is rainy season as you mention but it's not a problem, because for the last 7 days it's raining one hour a day, and it is only between 2 and 4 mm per time. We have been here often in the so called rainy season, but it's fairly honest to say that koh phangan is not much affected by rainy weather, compared to the northern parts of Thailand. Use maps.me if you don't have a internet connection on koh phangan. You can download it in forehand, and then it works without internet but via the mobile net. Have a nice and joyful time. Wishing you Safe journey - mikael

Going to Bottle beach in a few days with my beautiful wife. I know there are only a few restaurant and that's fine. I was wondering if I should bring booze and things from a 7 eleven before i go or is there a small store on the beach?
Written 12 April 2018
There is no supermarket at the beach so it's a good idea to bring some snacks...

We would like to stay with our 2 children in one of the resorts at Bottle Beach at the end of July. The full moon party is Juky 29. Now I've heard that the days before and after the full moon party, Bottle Beach is overrun by people that are drunk, stoned etc. So this might be the worst time to visit Bottle Beach. Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks for sharing!

Hi, can you get a direct boat for Koh Samui to bottle Beach ?
Thanks,
Written 11 July 2017
Hi, We have been to Samui in September and the weather is fine maybe a bit of rain but only for a short time. Have a great time in Thailand.
The lady is correct about getting to BB, The best option would be the road, but the last but is on a very rough track requires 4 x 4, its would be a very long day if not staying on Koh Phangan,
The best option due to the short time on the island, the full day to the national park,
On west side of the island you have The Conrad hotel, 5 star, but you can go for lunch at a very good price plus amazing views, or watching the sunset go down.
The other restaurant if your out and about is The Cliff restaurant is ok for lunch and dinner, Conrad cheaper and a view to die for.
just in case the medical services on the island our great and the dentist also, hopefully will not be required. if you require any information about Thailand or Samui please just ask,
But its your holiday and what ever you do, you will have a great time. Your holiday will start once you arrive in one of the pettiest airports in the world.

Hi. We have rented a scooter. What is the best way to access the beach? We don't want to get a boat. Where can we park our scooter and walk from?
Thanks
Written 5 September 2016
You can walk from chaloklam. I suggest you drive as far as you can from there on the road to bottle beach and just park up when you have gone as far as you can. You can hire a scooter from Rendevous restaurant ( tell them nana sent you, you may get a discount)
