The deepest waters on that side of the island

It has trees, so you can spend all day in the shadow. Nice beach restaurants, clean warm water. You can see fish, stars and sea urchings while you swimming.

Haad Yao Beach has so much to offer! In Thai it translates into Long Beach and it is one of the longest beaches on Koh Phangan. For the most part the water is clear and makes for an amazing swimming experience - just be prepared that there may be seaweed and other floatsam if the wind is from offshore or... More

Shallow waters full of debris, but people still try to swim there. Lots of litter in the water. If you want to swim, not just to spend time laying on the sand, go find another place. Restaurants are good though, especially in the evening, when you want to have some drink and watch the sunset.

During a motorcycle trip around the Island I visited all the beaches. While some were more private, Haad Yao Beach was my favorite. It's clean clean clean, no trash, no debris. There are several places to stay, my favorite is Sandy Bay Bungalows as they have the best location on the beach. There are several restaraunts up and down the... More

Amongst the best beaches on the island. Nice clean with great sand and good for a swim! The restaurants on the beach are also nice.

Essentially I want water that's clear and deep enough to swim in, this offered neither, with litter and debris washed up on the beach it was basically very disappointing!

This beach has some very nice cosy beach restaurants on the sand. They are lighted in evenings. This was one of our best beach experiences here.

We stayed here by chance 8 years ago and had the opportunity to go for a few days. Gorgeous, unfortunalty no where to rent snorkelling equipment, is was the best place we had ever snorkelled. So bring your own if going.
