We came for our honeymoon and are so glad we included this cooking school on our itinerary. We did the dinner course, and our teacher was so sweet and also pretty funny. We were there from 4-8pm and learned how to make 4 dishes out of the 10 that were available for the group to choose. We made Golden Bags with Chicken and Prawns, Seafood in Tamarind Sauce, Massaman Curry with Chicken, and Stir Fried Seafood with Sweet & Sour Sauce. All were delicious! We had some people in our group with food allergies and some that preferred different spice levels, and they were easily able to accommodate the differences, even though we were all making the same thing. We learned about a lot of the ingredients we were using, too, and what we could use to substitute with at home if we couldn't find specific Thai ingredients. Between each dish we learned, we sat at a beautiful table and ate them together. The restaurant below the school also has a bar that you can order drinks from while taking the class, and we were all sent home with a cook book of not only the things we made while there, but of all 10 options that we had to choose from. I highly recommend coming here, we'll definitely be back someday!

We had a really fun night at Lanta Thai Cookery School with a group of friends. I’m not a great cook but with the guidance of our brilliant guide chef I prepared a feast of yummy food - Green papaya salad, Thung Thong (golden parcels), Larb and Massaman curry. I would highly recommend this experience and can’t wait to try out some of the dishes back home (you get the recipe book for free)

Wow! What an experience! My Mom and I loved every second of it. Very organized and experienced team. All of our teachers had been super friendly and great. We could ask all of the questions we wanted and they answered it with passion. We visited the Lunch class and learned 4 disches. But for a little additional charge we were able to learn another dish! We would recommend this class to anyone who loved Thai cuisine and is curious to learn and of course - loves to cook! Thanks again to the great team!
Tipp: visit their restaurant right downstairs „The Garden“ - one of the best breakfasts on Ko Lanta!

Mother and daughter run this fantastic cooking class where you get the opportunity to cook Thai food from scratch in a small group. Fantastic ingredients, careful instructions and a well-organized kitchen where everyone cooks their own food, which you then eat together after each dish you have prepared. Incredibly nice, happy and helpful staff means that everyone succeeds in the art of cooking both good and beautiful Thai food! This is the perfect break if you want a break from the beach. Skip breakfast or lunch before you come, you'll leave here fuller than ever!

Our decision to do the Thai Cooking Class with teacher Prim and teacher Sun was the best we could have done. We booked a private class and had the opportunity to choose four courses out of twenty. The were both so nice and patient and explained a lot about the food and the way to prepare it. You will get two little cook books to take notes and write down all the secrets about the Thai Cousine. We would definitely recommend that class. Thank you so much again!!

It was a great cooking class! Nice woman who taught us how to cook, speaks good English. You can see that she is very experienced and enjoys showing this. We chose four dishes out of 10 dishes. At first I thought we could choose 4 dishes ourselves, but this has to be done with the entire group. This was not clearly indicated, but it is logical that you have to choose 4 dishes with a group of 12 people. In the end, luckily 3 of the 4 dishes matched what I wanted to make so I was very happy with this! We made som tam, spring roll, red curry and massaman curry with chicken and sticky rice. Very tasty, very full! Beautiful location and definitely worth doing this.

We have just had the best afternoon/evening learning how to make some traditional Thai dishes, our teacher was brilliant and it was just the two of us. We only arrived in Koh Lanta at lunchtime, our guesthouse hosts recommended the school and rung them for us, they came and picked us up too which was brilliant. I can thoroughly recommend this cookery school. Just one thing - make sure you are hungry before you go as you get to eat all four dishes you make!

Because of rainy weather we decided to do a Thai cooking class and the Lanta Thai Cookery school took us in just the same day, although we were the only students! It was so lovely! Sunny was our teacher, she was funny, kind and explained every ingredient and step. For the 4h class we could choose 4 dishes from a menu. We even got our own little cooking book with all the recipes!!! We highly recommend to do a class here. It was sooooo tasty and yummy!!

This was a top highlight of my entire Thailand trip, much less in Ko Lanta! Attending the class on Thursday afternoon, my friend and I got picked up from our hotel, and brought to the school, where we then all went shopping for the food we'd be cooking at the local market. (This only happens on Thursdays, so time it for then if you can!) Being led by Prim, the whole class was expertly taught how to make some delicious dishes from someone who had a genuine talent and passion for Thai food. Couldn't recommend more!

I did the dinner cooking course with Aon. She is a great teacher. We were a group of 3 so everyone got to pick 1 dish and the 4th one we picked together. We made golden bags, chicken satay with peanut sauce, massaman curry & the paste and sticky rice with mango. I was really happy for the dishes we picked. All of them were better than what I have had in a restaurant (that's how great teacher Aon is)! The cooking class was a really nice hands on experience and I can now make better Thai food at home which is great!

Is it best to do the morning or evening class?
Written 17 February 2015
Depends on what you want to cook as the menu's are different for lunch and evening, also I guess evening's are more crowded but less hot (outdoor course with fan)
