The settlement is well design, and organized. The buildings and structures are well maintainted. The japanese garden needs maintaining. Video presentations are simple but adequate. The artifacts are well presented and the staffs need to improve their knowledge in history of the area.

We were passing through and stopped for a look – not that much to see – dates back to a 16th century settlement – nice Japanese garden, some memorials and a small museum where a short video explains the why’s and wherefores’ about the place – not a place to go out of your way to visit .

People emigrated to Thailand/Siam of the Ayuttaya rein when there was no internet - not the least of air-conditioners or antibiotics - for the same reasons as of today? The flow of Chao Phraya River running in front of the Japanese Village looked so innocent to me for the one knowing all these history. Dutch, Portuguese and English old settlements... More

We had not known about this pace, and since I had some Japanese people with me, our taxi driver decided to take us there. It is a small place, but you get to watch some videos and ancient Ayuttaya and why the Japanese people were there.

The museum is really interesting from the point of view that it explains really well the reasons why the Japanese were there in the first place and the history behind their leaving but the gardens (Japanese style) really need more upkeep.

Situated on the small country road from Ayutthaya to Bang-Pa-In Palace, this place seems to have undergone recent restoration. Everything looks pretty new. Admission 50 Baht. There is a beautiful Japanese garden/park. Two museum buildings give an insight into Ayutthaya's importance at the time. In the first building there is a 9-minute-video worth watching, then a huge exhibition hall with... More

This museum is mainly a collection of reading panels which are very heavy on historical detail about Japan-Thai relations, but which don't tell you much about the Japanese settlement itself. I didn't find it particularly informative. It's also quite out of the way, so I would not recommend it unless you have a particular interest.

Located on the roadside between Bang Pa-in, the Summer Palace and Ayuthaya town. With the proximity of the location and convenience for the Japanese tourist, this Japanese Settlement attraction was built. However due to the lack of deep understanding and historical knowledge of the settlement, the place never attract positive response even at the height of the mass Japanese tourism... More
