Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The floating market is purely a tourist thing. It has got nothing to do with a real floating market. And it is also not for free. Elephants are being exploited and baby elephants maltreated at the entrance.

I passed by the Ayutthaya floating market but I did not really like it as it's not authentic. recommended to go to the one in Bangkok.

Give it a miss...run down, unsafe and lots of empty stalls. Charge foreigners 200 baht to enter.
Locals free. Absolute rip off for a poor market

Not my favourite part of Ayutthaya, and it was in such a deplorable state. Most shops are closed and at some point it made me wonder how the businesses within the area are managing to survive. The waterway was dirty and most of the nooks and crannies were left unkempt.

Do not visit.

200baht mandatory fee for a 15min boat ride back to the entrance......for a floating market that you casually walk through in about 20mins or so. Some of the bridges were aging and had holes and nails sticking out (dangerous!!). We had lunch here and it was hands-down the worst food we have had in Thailand by a long shot. The dishes had no flavor at all. We regret visiting.

A slightly odd experience really. Entry fee 200 THB is plainly OTT by Thai standards although this includes a 10-minute slow boat trip around the lagoon. It also said a "performance" which did not exist or happen? Went mid-week so was very quiet indeed so feeling sorry for the traders here. I expect it is busier on weekends? Nice selection of stalls and the atmosphere is fine and relaxed albeit not at all bustling on this day. I am told many stalls did not return after Covid but there is plenty open and presumably more on a weekend. Ate there to give some trade which was nice and pleasant surroundings and setting. More stalls across the road with no entry charge. I am not sure if you can just walk in if you do not want to have the boat trip as paying 200 THB to simply walk around a market is a bit crazy. Can easily nip in via another route if you were dead set on avoiding the charge. I just hope some of the entrance fees actually go to the traders to help them out. I find it hard to write slightly negative reviews but hopefully this is fair and balanced overall. The entry charge is the real sticking point although clearly in the grand scheme of things it is small fry for most Westerners.
