Original Residence of Dr. Kalam
Feb. 2020
Rameshwaram’s claim to fame has always been irrefutable but the locals found a reason to rejoice in the appointment of their beloved neighbour as the President of India. His name is Dr. Abdul Kalam and his claim to fame lies in his knowledge of science, his interest in space exploration and his love for writing. The original house of Kalam has been retained as it is, whereas two more floors added & converted to exhibition to display Kalam’s achievements & loving memories.
After visiting his house one feels proud….. how a man with such meager background rose the level of highest chair in India..
A trip to Rameshwaram is incomplete without visiting his residence..

Most inspiring Monument
Jan. 2020
Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was very simple and this monument simply bares witness to his life and achievements. Its indeed source of inspiration for students. Unfortunately, its linked with some shops over there.

Must visit place for all
Jan. 2020
on first floor, a picture gallery depicting simple life of exPresident of India describes the greatness of man. It takes 30-45 minutes to go through the place but a must to visit. Walking distance from Beach road or main temple. Do not get carried away by the same surname shops as they are no way connected to the Great Man. The lane where his house is located has not been renovated by using his position.

Both Good and Bad
Dec. 2019
Went with lot of expectations. Specially the kids were very excited

The first floor is kind of a gallery where people can see Kalam Sir's journey from a student to president of India. His medals, certificates , ISRO uniform , letters, photos are displayed in a very good way.

The second floor of the building is just a road side shop and no connection with Kalam sir. Disappointing to see that.
