Dec. 2019 • Family
Here well is present and surrounded by sea water, water taste is sweet slightly salted. This well is created by lord sriram arrow when sita devi asked water. Very peaceful place and nearby small temple present.
Must visit and have sip of water!!! Most of the visiting places are nearby so very easy to cover the places.
No entry fee and no charges for parking. Restaurants are not present near to this place, needs improvement.

Witness Ramayan in action here......
May 2019 • Family
Witness Ramayan in action here. The place finds mention also in Valmiki Ramayan. Rameshwaram is well-known for its temple tanks but a place that is of special importance is the Villoondi Theertham. Legend has it that this was created with lord Rama shot an arrow to get fresh water from the sea to quench his wife Sita’s thirst. Located about 7 km from the Ramanathaswamy Temple, this place offers some stunningly beautiful and dramatic views of the sea. Incidentally, the place is named Villondi or 'buried bow' as it is believed to be the place where Lord Rama buried his bow and arrow. A long platform leads you to this holy well and it is magical to walk on it as you see the sea from both the sides. The water in the well is quite mysteriously sweet in spite of being surrounded by salt sea water all around and devotees believe it will do them good if they take a sip of this holy water. There is a small temple like structure adjoining this place and as you stand at the edge of the platform, you can see statues of gods and goddesses in the water bed. The sight is quite fascinating, just like the place itself.

Miracle on Earth
Sep. 2018 • Family
The story is when Sita was felling thirsty while returning after Lord Ram won over Ravan. Lord Ram could not found water in the sea ,so he prayed and pulled out his bow arrow and shot down from where sweet water started to come out. Still the well is in the middle of sea and is having sweet drinkable water.

I went to Villoondi Tirtham. Villoondi Tirtham is a beach which is also considered a sacred natural water body and a favourite amongst tourists. It also has a spring inside the sea which makes the attraction a unique one and is often associated with the Legend of Ramayana. It is great place to go.

Villoondi theertham was created by Rama to quench the thirst of Sita. It is believed that Lord Rama pierced the earth with an arrow (hence the name villoondi) to get water for thirsty Sita. It is nice and historical

Stunning view of sea
Oct. 2018 • Family
We visited this place steeped in mythology on 31 oct.On reaching the site had a view of the well where there is supposed to be fresh water.

The sad part is the local man who wanted to take our photos disappeared when we asked him to get a bucket to taste the water and sprinkle on us, then we will take his photos.

Regards
