It is big fort but it is not well maintained since it is private owned. Beware of monkeys on the way and careful on the road since steps are loose.

The arduous trek to the fort is worth it for the spectacular vistas that can be seen from the top. Be wary of the macaques (locals advise taking a stick to fend them off) and keep an eye out for the green bee-eaters catching insects...More

Good to see, just know that it is quite a hike up the mountain so make sure you wear proper shoes. Also, the wild monkeys are quite scary so bring a stick as the guide books recommend.

A great fort in Bundi, but the buildings need intense renovation! Window-shields are loose, some steps seem to be dangerous. Its great to see the wall-paintings, but also those need protection and renovation.

Very nice to see it. Mind that it's a steep walk up. Take a stick with you to chase away the monkeys.

We walked up to the fort which is basically old ruins. Great view over the city and lakes from the top of the walls. Worth doing as you are heading up to do the Palace.

Both this fort and the Gargh palace are must-sees whilst in Bundi. It is a 30 minute climb to the fort - we recommend that you climb to the fort first and then enjoy the palace as you return down the steep hill. Take a...More

I went to Taragarh Fort. The place is at its peak of beauty when the sun sets, and the entire city is immersed in the fading light of the setting sun. A visit to the Taragarh Fort is an engrossing experience that provides essential details...More

Palace of lower part and upper part are only accessible. Virtually, it’s not allowed to walk into the hill behind the palace. The palace itself is the highlight. Nothing inside is accessible. As it looks huge covering the whole hill, I felt like I just...More
