    Birds did not disappoint
The birds did not disappoint . We enjoyed being guided around the sanctuary and being introduced to the many beautiful species in the park. Best visited early morning and late afternoon with time to walk the nature trails where we saw our best sightings. Guide was excellent and would recommend taking the opportunity to be shown around the park with a trained guide. I would recommend asking the guide to take you deeper into the park to start so as to not get caught up with the crowds . We hired an electric rickshaw at 1200 rupees for 3 hours. Sadly the park does not issue day tickets so you have to pay entry twice if you leave in the middle period of the day. Food facilities are ok, you can get a packet of snacks and a chai but nothing much else .Toilet facilities are available but not kept in good condition. The info leaflet could also do with a basic checklist and better map. Overall we were there for the twitching and that was wonderful.

    Bird watchers paradise....
It's a paradise for bird watchers especially btwn oct- feb... entrance fees are nominal & students get discounts but in order to view the stunning birds, a guide wth a telescope/binocular is a must... a guide is mandatory wth an e-rickshaw/ toto which cost us 800 for d toto & 800 for the guide wth telescope. (Guide is mandatory for those opting for e-rickshaw which fits 4 persons). Guide is not mandatory for those opting bicycles & horse drawn carriage. Our guide Sajjan Singh not only spotted the birds but even clicked the photos in our phone through d lens of his powerful telescope!! Cluster of birds, their homes, family & even new born being fed by mother Painted Stork. An experience indeed!!

    Birders paradise
Highly recommend!!! We went in 2 rickshaws and our guide was Mr.Jagdish. he made our trip phenomenal!! He's so passionate about the wildlife and so respectful too. The kids and adults learned a lot in the 2 hours we spent here. We went on a 3 hour ranthambore safari the next day and that paled in comparison. Ask for Mr. Jagdish and you won't be disappointed. Don't miss this one!!

Best place to see migratory birds
Our trip guide Arvind Naturalist(9413838813) helped us see many species of bird and areas that we alone won't be able to see or cover, Though we could only cover 11km of the Sanctuary. The 29 km(11 sq mi) reserve is locally known as Ghana, and is a mosaic of dry grasslands, woodlands, woodland swamps and wetlands. These diverse habitats are home to 366 bird species, 379 floral species, 50 species of fish, 13 species of snakes, 5 species of lizards, 7 amphibian species, 7 turtle species and a variety of other invertebrates. Every year thousands of migratory waterfowl visit the park for wintering and breeding. The sanctuary is one of the richest bird areas in the world and is known for nesting of resident birds and visiting migratory birds including water birds. The rare Siberian cranes used to winter in this park but this central population is now extinct. According to founder of the World Wildlife Fund Peter Scott, Keoladeo National Park is one of the world’s best bird areas.

    Great for nature lovers
If you have even a passing interest in birds or wildlife watching you should make this bird sanctuary a priority. We went in Jan 2024 during migratory bird season. By India standards it’s somewhat pricey for foreigners - 851 INR for entry. There were plenty of others on self guided tours on bikes or on foot, but I think it’s worth it to get a guide and e-rickshaw (the e-rickshaw is surprisingly quiet). We booked an afternoon tour with Arvind, who I highly recommend. We contacted him through WhatsApp (+91 94138 38813, arvindnaturalist@gmail.com) and he met us the next day at the ticket counter. Within minutes of entering the park, we saw a spotted owl, a python, and a green pigeon. He pointed out at least 30 different bird (and mammal and reptile) species and was a fantastic resource for learning about all of the birds. He helped us get great photos through his telescope and we had an amazing time!

    Unbelievable, unmissable Experience
The second biggest highlight (number one was seeing a tiger at Ranthambore) of our three week tour in India. We saw deer, jackals, jungle cats, and then, when we reached the lakes, thousands of over wintering birds, far too many varieties to mention. We aimed to go back a second day but as it was foggy we missed out. I highly recommend a trip here if you're travelling between Agra and Jaipur. We stayed at The Birders Inn which was glorious.

We did a group tour and decided to go with our guide Mr. Mohan (+91 98878 69334). He knows all the locations very well and this made it very easy for us to find the wildlife. He's also very punctual and had a very respectful attitude. Will definitely go with him again.

Excellent birding park, lots to explore, go with Mohan!
Keoladeo is an incredible experience, especially during winter migration season. We saw over 80 different bird species in a full day, including some incredible rare vagrants. The sheer number of each species was amazing, there were hundreds of ducks, geese, cormorants, egrets, and cranes in the wide wetlands. I highly recommend our guide, naturalist Mohan Singh Solanki (+918005645249; naturalistmohan123@gmail.com). Mohan knows all the birds and the plants in the park so well. He started us at a map of the park to think about what we wanted to see and how much the different transit options would be. We used an erickshaw for three hours to get to the middle of the park, and then walked around and walked back with him the rest of the day. Mohan traveled with us throughout, bringing his spotting scope to point out birds near and far. It was so easy to just text him beforehand to schedule that day. He really made it a great day for us.

    Bharatpur bird sanctuary
Our visit to the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary was truly exceptional, thanks to the world-class experience provided by Mohan Solanki, our guide. Growing up in the area, Mohan’s profound knowledge of the park enriched our exploration. His ability to share personal experiences and insights about the various bird species enhanced our understanding. Mohan’s expertise in spotting birds, aided by his spotter, added a dynamic and engaging dimension to our visit. This collaboration significantly helped us spot and appreciate a variety of birds. In just four hours, we were able to observe over 57 species of birds, a testament to Mohan’s skill and the sanctuary’s rich biodiversity. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience with him, and his passion for the sanctuary and its avian inhabitants was evident throughout. Without a doubt, we will definitely be back, eagerly choosing Mohan Solanki as our guide again for another enriching and memorable adventure in the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.

Keoladeo is an incredible experience, even in summer end of May when it was 48 degrees centigrade

We went with guide and naturalist Mohan Singh Solanki (+918005645249) who was brilliant and spoke very good English.

Mohan knows all the birds in the park so well having grown up nearby. We saw many types of storks, cranes, egrets and other wetland birds. Also kingfishers, bee eaters, jackals, deer, mongoose, monkeys.

Mohan traveled with us throughout, bringing his spotting scope to point out birds and help take pictures through it. It was very easy to text him beforehand to schedule that day.

He is also able to offer and organise other wildlife excursions around India and rathembore so give him a message to chat.

We toured with Tarun Signh as our guide for three trips in the park. Thanks to his experience we got to see more than 60 birds that we had never seen before. Including storks, cranes, owls, kingfishers and others. Every trip started with his list of what we had seen on the last trip. He and his brother also run a guest house that you can book trips through

Our guide Mohan Solanki at Keoladeo National Park was incredibly knowledgeable about the park, its terrain, the birds, where and when to find different species. He answered all of our questions thoroughly, helped my son find all his "target birds" and was so kind, patient, and friendly with the kids and overall just really easy and fun to be around. We were able to locate some of the most elusive birds in the park. His communication and knowledge on all matters was excellent. I can't reccomend him highly enough. If you are a true birder or just want an incredible experience this is your guide! His contact is +91 80056 45249

Since I was solo I used Pugdundee Safaris to organize my trip. Very nice park I took photos of birds and also Spotted Dear, Blue Bull. I hoped to see Siberian Crane which this park is famous for, however guide told me for some reason they don't come to this park last couple years. Guide and I travel on Rickhshaw in park, easy to stop and take photos. My whole trip was about two hours. I probably could spend more time there, but I had to go to Delhi, and light was getting too harsh to take photos.

I had a really good day in the National Park. I went with Mohan Singh Solanki (+918005645249) the best guide. He explains me everything about the birds we have seen (knows a lot) and let me use his binoculars so I can see all the animals. I would repeat the experience! Thank you.

We went to this exceeding beautiful park in November 2023 and February 2024 and were rewarded by different types of flora and fauna. We saw an amazing variety of birds, resident and migratory. We witnessed the dance of the Saras cranes after a 2 hour wait but it was well worth it. The land fauna included jackels, foxes, hyenas, porcupine and hedgehogs. We also saw a pair of sunbathing pythons. We had an excellent guide, Mr Soren who made the experience one of its kind. Overall, an amazing stay.

Our five-day visit to Bharatpur was fabulous, thanks largely to our good fortune in meeting naturalist and guide Baney Singh when we first checked out the park upon arrival. Baney, who speaks in clear English, suggested the best way to view birds was by walking, which fit our style. He uses a spotting scope and has spent decades learning the wildlife at the park. We agreed to meet for a guided walk the next day, and were wowed by his keen ear and eyes for spotting wildlife we’d never see on our own. Baney loaned me his Nikon binoculars and urged me to keep them for five days, without asking for money or any ID. We used Baney two more days, and bicycled in the park the other days, finding quiet and solitude unlike anywhere else during our month in India. We would love to return some day and take Baney’s multi-day tour. He is an amazing self-taught expert, a gentle soul, and he avoided the hard-sell promotional tactics that turn me off. We will urge our friends back in the United States to hire Baney. He can be reached at baneyguideknp@yahoo.co.in or 0091-9414344149.

After the hustle-bustle of Indian cities, the park offered a place of peace and natural wonder. We were lucky to find a skilled and enthusiastic guide, Baney Singh. He has a keen eye for spotting birds, speaks fluent English and is a kind man. He generously loaned us his binoculars on our five-day visit and helped us shoot photos through his spotting scope.
