Although the Golden Temple is busy (and we visited on a Sunday - everyone's day off!) it didn't feel rushed or pushy. Everyone was relaxed. The kitchen is the most amazing part of the complex and deserves a visit. It was very hot and you will have to cover your head so take plenty of water.

The Golden Temple was of course stunning. Exceeded our expectations. But, even more phenomenal - and a highlight of our 20 day trip to India - was the kitchen serving a meal or masala tea free of charge to thousands every day. Just spectacular to see in operation the feeding and cleaning up, the incredible assembly line - a charitable,... More

Clean, organised, peaceful and spiritually amazing. A very humbling experience and the organised prayer and observance make it more meaningful. There is peace and tranquility in the ambiance of the temple.

Its a great peaceful place to visit. Its a holy place for Sikhs but will be loved by almost each class or group of peoples. Best time to visit during winters or during night as its a bit difficult to move bare feet during hot sunny day.

Go there to experience the peace you can feel even when surrounded by hundreds of people. Try to visit during the night around 9-10 pm. It is easier to move around the premises in the night as it gets very hot during the day. Everyone have to cover their heads to go inside the premises, you can get the cloth... More

This temple has throngs of Sikhs visiting - from the elderly barely able to walk and to the newly born. Lots of room to pray and meditate in the hot sun because of the overhang that provides needed shade. As I was on crutches I just went a short distance into the temple area surrounding the "lake" shown in the... More
