Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Both the cemetery and the remote museum can be seen for one price but they are a bit difficult to find from one another. The Golden mummies were quite a treasure to view.

Actually called the ‘Hall of the Golden Mummies’, this poorly sign-posted Museum looks more like a military bunker than a museum, yet it’s a gem! There are 11 well preserved mummies from the Roman period on display. The ticket also gains you entry to the site of many tombs from the same period (less than 500 mts away on the opposite side of the main road). The two tombs are amazing, with beautiful colorful reliefs- we did not expect to find such tombs away from the Nile- well worth the price of entry.

It is a good idea to have a guide with a 4WD car to show you round the oasis. In fact, there are five monuments in the price of the museum ticket, all worth of visit. Besides that, the driver can you show round the oasis, which is quite big, including the Salty Lake, camel farm, English mountain, several hot springs etc. April is, however, not the best time to go, it may be windy and dusty (reduced visibility).

During our visit to Bawiti we checked a pharonic cemetery and a pharonic museum which had few monuments.

The two sights are very close to each other. They seemed deserted and we were the only visitors.

The museum was really not worth the effort and the cemetery as well. If you go check any other pharonic sight in Cairo or any other oasis they would be much worth it.

I would not recommend wasting your time and effort by going there unless you have time and do not have anything else to do.

This was a combined ticket for the Museum and the cemetery, and they are located across the street and down side streets from each other--only 5 minutes walk, but you must know where you are going. We had a guide, who gave us the history; there are no signs or information here, so hire a guide before you arrive. These were the best tombs we saw in Egypt, up close, well preserved, great color--and I am including visits to Alexandria and Valley of the Kings in my consideration. I am so glad we got to visit it, and would recommend it highly.
