We went to this park as part of our tour. The birds looked well cared for and the free flight exhibit was great. The only negative part of the visit was they had small black flies that bit the heck out of my calves. So beware and use bug spray.

With our four year old in tow, we enjoyed exploring Condor Park for a morning and early afternoon. The location is beautiful and provides breathtaking views of Imbabura, Otavalo, etc. The exhibits were impressive, especially those without cages, as you can see the birds up close. The show was a highlight of our trip. The guide was informative and engaging,... More

We were positivly surprised, since the birds are well kept and staff identifying themselves with the park. The size of the condors are truly impressive, but others not less interesting. Unfortunately, due to the weather, the show with the birds flying could not take place.

They charge a higher price for foreigners, despite the fact that only *one* random sign has any form of English translation. The birds (including American Bald Eagle) are shackled to posts and are constantly crying and showing signs of extreme distress due the their inability to move. This place doesn't deserve your money.

Really nice demonstration of some birds flying, but all information was in Spanish, so I could not understand and did not know the kind of birds. Condors were in a large cage. There were lots a biting insects that left aweful itchy welts on my exposed arms.

It is amazing the variety of birds that this park have like all kinds of eagles , owls , Andes condors, and the American eagles, they even let the eagles fly as part of show.

Currently led by a French scientist, this is a remote but wonderful experience. While we were there, three wild condors flew in and landed close to us ( within 30'). It was thrilling to see them preen and bicker, as well as fly.

I would not go out of my way to come here but if you are in Otavalo and you want a close up look a birds of prey, this is a great place. Its not a zoo. Many of the birds are rescued, rehabilitated and released back into the wild if possible. After viewing the birds in their cages, there... More

We had some free time before we checked into our hotel, so we had our cab drive us from Otavalo to the Condor Park, located on a ridge overlooking the city. The park is quite spacious and well maintained. We were able to see dozens of different birds including owls, hawks, eagles, and the amazingly huge Andean condor. The trip... More

The park is set up high with a fabulous view overlooking the valley and the mountains in the distance--it's worth the visit just to see the view! The display areas are large enclosures, with a huge variety of raptors and owls. It was fabulous to see these birds, compare them, and learn more about them. Each display had a nice... More
