Fantastic variety of exotic birds like owls, hawks, an American bald eagle, and especially the Ecuadorian Condor. There are bird enclosures and playgrounds, the chance to get up close with birds and watch a choreographed show. The layout setting is a stone Amphitheatre looking out...More

It's worth going to the show with the birds even if it's Spanish and you don't understand. So informative and impressive.

This was truly a memorable and enjoyable experience. We learned so much about the Condors, and were amazed by the shear beauty of the mountains, the history of the area, and would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Ecuador.

I'm not usually into captive wildlife collections--this one is very different. The refuge is exactly that--a place for injured or sick birds of very dramatic species--the layout is great for walking through, the birds are magnificent--you will Condors which are huge and daunting--but in a...More

Definitely take the time to visit this place while you’re in Otavalo, if for nothing other than to observe an Andean condor up close. Suggest timing your visit to see the flight demonstration- it’s unfortunately only offered in spanish but watching the birds was a...More
