The museum was closed in the past but a few years ago opened its doors to the public and is the best option to admire the colonial art through paintings and works of art found in this museum. It also has archeological pieces of the coastal cultures to give you an idea of life in those times. It was a great experience and I highly recommend visiting this museum.

Upon entry we had to produce our passport copies for transcription by the security. I was told, no pictures down here, OK upstairs. The art downstairs was our favorite pieces. Clay work done in characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy Groot and Rocket, another piece was very familiar as a Star Trek character. The work was awesome. Several pieces were more in the anime line. All super hero character stuff. We took the elevator to floor one which was only administrative stuff so up to floor two. I took a couple of shots but at the entry to the Jesus of Nazareth segment an unseen security person over a speaker admonished no photos. I was confused but no pictures were taken. The current exhibit was old and old looking pre crucifixion ancient age style paintings. All dark and morbid. I looked for the rising and life hereafter and there was none. That was the whole deal. We were done within 30 minutes and not hugely impressed.
