This is one of the places to see and be seen, when in Ecuador. Malecon has condos, shopping, history (right at the river's edge), and is safe during the day - maybe even at night, but I visited during the day. It is a vibrant...More

Amazingly appointed boardwalk with a bunch of kids activities, restaurants, vending machines and plenty of security.

5 miles long. A great stroll walking through the old and the new. Many shops, art galleries and cafes. Often on the river banks. Active, great to sit and people watch.

We were staying at the Wyndham Hotel just by the river and took a walk along the Malecon while we were there one evening. It is a cooler time of the day and we met many local families with their young children at the few...More

This place is basically a long strip next to the shore of the guayas river. It has some small parks mixed in here and there along with playgrounds, monuments and restaurants. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in Guayaquil but beware the sun...More

I rated a 4 even though it was quieter on my visit on Good Friday (in the evening). Setup to accommodate a lot of people and there are little restaurants along the way. I can imagine it would be bustling with activity during the day

Nice views and a nice walk at night. Resturants and bars so you can grab a drink and just enjoy the view. Worth the walk.

Not sure what the fuss is all about at Malecon2000. Did do the ferris wheel too. Santa Anna next to it is quaint.

One of the nearest if not the nearest is the Ramada. It's a four-star hotel and many of the rooms have a view of the river. It's close to a museum and the recently inaugurated wheel called La Perla. The Wyndham is also a... More
