Most of the park is forested, except a section that demonstrates local agriculture. There is a variety of tropical birds [flamingo, parrots, ducks]; dense native plants give a forested feel to the animal display area. The "farm" area was a series of plots with lush...More

This is a quiet, easy and secluded park that allows you to see gorgeous vegetation, and animals. At the very end of the trail, you will find two antique buildings (Casa Julian Restaurant) and a hotel (Hotel del Parque Historico).

Small, neat zoo with a variety of animals. Parrots, monkeys, and more . Even a set of smaller “farm” animals with a playground. Ideal family stop in a lot of shade. Highly recommend.

Parque Histórico is worth the taxi ride to get there ($8 from mid-town). Be sure to eat at Casa Julien, arguably one of the best restaurants in town. We had a wonderful, although not inexpensive, dinner there. The native wildlife display is excellent as are...More

Well worth a visit to view its art works and gold leaf wooden Alter. Worth getting a local guide (resident in the Church)to learn about the history and culture surrounding the construction of the Church.

I enjoyed walking through the park. The church here is beautiful and you must come to experience their Sunday services. Everyone uses the park on Sunday. It was fun!

Intresting park where you can see some of the local fauna. The park is open and wooden walkways will take you into mangrovias where the animals are located.

Hi what you plan sounds good. It would take about 20mins from the airport to the park, and a couple of hours would probably be all you would need to look around. We took the bus but taxis are fairly reasonable if you get the... More
