we had a walk through the jungle after applying Mozzy stuff and saw the crabs hiding in their holes. At a small jetty we boarded a canoe type boat and sailed down the river. There were quite a few birds about but not a lot. Then we turned round and went back. Not terribly interesting but ok.

Want to get away from a busy city like Guayaquil? Less than a hour drive is the entrance to Churute. The bidit includes a small museum, a walk through a dry vegetation area where birds and howler monkeys are observed - and finally a canoa ride to see more birds, sometimes even crocodiles. A nice excursion but take insect repellent.

I was with a group of about 30 people. At the end of the tour, our leader asked how many people liked it and would recommend it to others. Only TWO hands went up! First of all, the guide spoke so softly, only the people in the front row of the bus could hear him. Repeated requests to "please speak... More

We went to the reserve on the recommendation of our Galapagos guide as a nice day trip from Guayapuil. This was indeed the case. We were picked up in an air conditioned van and first taken for a nature walk, seeing sloths, howler monkeys, a waterfall and too many bird species to count. Mosquitoes were prominent but repellent made them... More

We had a whole day visit from Guayaquil which included the Mangroves, canoe trip, the howler monkeys - in all their audible splendour and finished with a visit to the Cacao farm, owned by Nymfa's parents. Here we were given an excellent lunch and a very detailed guided tour of the farm, an explanation of the crops grown and we... More

It took my family and I longer than expected to reach this destination and that caused us to rush our visit. We took a boat ride out into the inlets and it was a great view. We had a tour guide who explained the environment and animals that inhabit the specific area. We were lucky enough to see dolphins swimming... More

The Mangrove tour was an exciting trip. It was very safe and we got to see what the village life was like. The different vegetation and tpe of trees were amazing. We bought fresh fish right off he boat for almost nothing.
