Only a small park but it has so many Iguanas walking freely about which you get close to and feed, great photo opportunities. There are pools with fish and turtles and the gardens are pleasant but it is the iguanas that are the main attraction.

There are about 30 of them, maybe more. There is no charge to get in. Go check it out if you are downtown.

I was walking around my first afternoon in Guayaquil and happened upon the Cathedral and wanted to take a picture from the park across the street. I walked in and almost stepped on an iguana. I was surprised. They were everywhere; on the sidewalks, under the bushes, on the statues, and in the trees. You can buy a bag of... More

There is not a tremendous amount to see from a tourist's point of view in Guayaquil. But this site seems unique. It is a place where the iguanas are used to people and used to being given food. You can get very close to them and even touch them, if you want to do that.

I was surprised that how many iguanas are just laying around in that park in the downtown area of the city and they don't bother no one

If you are into people watching and/or want to watch/feeding iguanas this is a cool place to hang out. You have plenty of places to sit and there are vendors selling salad and bird seeds... so you have plenary of options as long as you have a few dollars in your hand.

We stopped by here on Ash Wednesday while having a city tour. The number of iguanas are amazing and we enjoyed watching their antics. The cathedral at the top of the park is very pretty.

This Iguana Park is a must see. Very unusual attraction. You can look and feed the iguanas. The church across from the park is also amazing and all is in the center of Guayaquil.

The Plaza has been occupied by families of Iguanas, so it's an opportunity to see them in a place where they are not behind bars without going to the Galapagos! You can get up really close to them but beware those up the trees! There are tortoises and Terrapins too.
