We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the volcano, organised through Kasitu Eco Tours. The volcano climb took around 6 hours and sleeping in huts on the rim of an active volcano was thrilling!

I was hesitant to do the gorilla trek and hike to Mt. Nyiragongo's active Volcano due to rebels and the high cost, but I am so glad I went. The groups I joined were fortunate to have good guides and we were safe the entire time. I can see how people become fascinated with such compelling experiences like getting up... More

I cannot recommend this more. I live in Nairobi (originally from UK) and I went with my wife and parents. Naturally there were a few underlying concerns about the stability of the country but there was not one time in the whole 4 days where i felt uneasy. It isnt the easiest climb in the world but to put it... More

Last week, i had a great experience climbing the Nyiragongo volcano, what a marvelous to watch in the night the active lava lake? thanks to Ubuntu Voyages for organizing my trip. For a professional tour operator, i highly recommend Ubuntu Voyages in Goma.

We were awed: by the shear magnitude of the volcanoes height, power and heat; the challenge of the steep hike; the embrace of the guides, porters, cook/DJ and our leader - Tresor. An all round unforgettable experience of a lifetime.

This is an 8km hike that starts at 1900m and ends at 3490m after about 5 hrs for an overnight stay at the summit. There are areas of the trail that can be challenging that I would rate as at least moderate. For the uphill climb there are 4 breaks with nice views along the way if the weather is... More

This place is just out of this world. If you are in Goma you should do it even if you are not a big hike lover. Views from the top are absolutely worth the effort! We organized our trip with help of Innocent from EcoTours. They took care of everything starting from arranging our entry visas to DRC and ending... More

A truly breathtaking experience. The hike was well organised, the cabanas on the crater were quite good given circumstances, the view fantastic. Very expensive, but completely worth it.

have you seen such a sight! Standing on the rim of the Nyiragongo caldera after a gruelling 5 hour hike up a more than 30% grade you will be faced head on with the realization of what the earth actaully is and you will be awed, humbled and astounded at the world's largest lake of molten lava bubbling, twisting, forming...
