We were looking forward to seeing this ancient gate, but unfortunately, at this time, all we could see was the covering that the town has put over it as it is being repaired. If one is currently (2018) in seeing ancient gates, you will have...More

Currently all covered up and under restoration. This is the entrance to go into the myriad of alleys. Prepare to get lost

Just my luck the arch is being renovated. Have found a good bar just beyond it though, Bruno a cool place to escape the hot sun.

Walked under the Baltic Arch last week, and it is still covered with scaffolding and netting. Almost completely hidden from public view.

Sadly this gate is covered up and we were unable to view it.Assume it's being renovated. Not much else to say as there wasn't anything to see. Rovinj in general is fabulous!

Don't miss the gate which narrates Rovinj's history as a Venetian merchant town -- the "Venetian" and "Turkish" heads capping either side of the arch orient you to the historic layout of the town right at the waters' edge near the elegant cafes
