Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

OK so its little but it only costs about £2.50 to get in. There are probably about 15 or so tanks in there with a nice collection of local fish and sea creatures. Well labelled and presented, if you take your time and look closely there is more to see than you might initially expect. Spent about an hour in here and loved the fact it was native species.

A short but informative introduction of the animal sealife of the Adriatic. I do believe we payed 30 kuna a ticket. A bit steap for some aquariums in two rooms might be some peoples judgement. Still an experience worth your while I think.

As others have said, it’s not Monterey Bay aquarium. But if you slow down you’ll see some magical things. I was lucky to watch as a seahorse—three inches or so of her—decided to leave the branch her tail was wrapped around and motor to the next thing on her agenda. It was like watching a cartoon for a moment—she blew water with bubbles out her ears and glided to the next branch. That alone made the aquarium worth the visit.

The Aquarium is housed in a splendid villa on the seaside, and has an interesting link to the Berlin aquarium. Unfortunately, it has been neglected since the founders left, with the exhibition being limited to about 10 basins in varying stages of neglect - often full of moss.
The fish share the state of depression, who can blame them.
Fortunately, the staff have a good time, tanning in the garden, and slowly moving to the cashiers desk when the odd visitor arrives. Unfortunately they forgot to bring change, so when you pay your ticket you are offered a handful of coins for change.

Impressed by the aquarium building in Rovinj, we went to visit it. Even though the building is big, the exhibition is only in two rooms. It became clear after the first two water tanks that this is the aquarium from hell. Many tanks had dead fishes floating in them. Some other tanks had fishes feeding on other animals in the exhibition or trying to do so. One tank had a fish which had a big chunk of it's head bitten off, by the other fishes in the tank. Some fishes looked ill and close to dying. The water tanks were dirty and seemed to be the original tanks since the opening of the aquarium, more than 100 years ago. Definitely not to visit especially with kids.

We visited this place yesterday and it was such a disappointment. You have to pay 30 Kuna per person (about 4€) to see a tiny variety of fish. Furthermore some of them are more like stuffed into the tanks then beeing given an acceptable place to live.
I would defintely not recommend going there. It is a waste of money and time.

The Aquarium is really small, it took 5 minutes to see everything there. The tanks are dirty, most of the fish are sick or dying already. Not worth a kuna either.

20 Tanks in two dingy rooms - three quarters of the tanks were not bigger than fish tanks in peoples homes. Ridiculous

I visited this Aquarium many times in the '80 and '90, it was such a charming place bringing you back to a time when museums and scientific institution were even a place of arts.
