We entered from the rear courtyard and saw the unique metal sculptures. The chapel is not large, but is impressive. We exited out the front entrance into the street, and the front of the church is fairly plain but nonetheless unique.
The church exterior would lead you to believe a modest interior would follow. Prepare to be surprised. Should a talented young woman sing and accompany herself on the piano, you will be as blessed as our Viking group. What a transportive treat.
I was not that impressed with the exterior of the church when compared to European cathedrals, but what a very impressive interior! Simply amazing alter and other religious decor.

Lynn and I visited the Church of the Raising of the Holy Cross with a group from a river cruise that we took along the Danube. Of course the cross made of artillery artifacts is photographic and worth the visit. We also listened to a...More
This is an absolutely beautiful franciscan monastery . Lovely paintings and statues and cloisters. this is situated in part of Tvrda which is an 18th century defensive fortress. Immaculately preserved houses and buildings and lovely cafes inside walls. Worth a few hours walking.
Had a singer perform for the group, very nice setting. The interior has many beautiful carvings, well preserved. Exterior is modest, but has a nice courtyard in the back, with a shop for area trinkets and local drink.
The church is quite lovely, with beautiful paintings on walls and ceilings. But the monastery was really interesting. The statues in the courtyard, made from war relics are confronting, but have a stark beauty.
