- mrc282World9,282 contributionsamazingi thought this waterfalls and the way the boardwalk is set up is more amazing than Plitvice Lakes NP, but i guess each has its own charm. it reminds me a little of iguazu. there is also way more water and greenery at Skradinski Buk in March, compared to the waterfalls at Plitvice, so that may have impacted my overall impression too Use the Lozovac entrance as access. the entrance ticket is 7 euros, and you then walk 875 m downhill to the start of boardwalk. alternatively, you can ride the park bus down and up. i cant even imagine the trash and pollution that results from people swimming all over the place. best decision ever to ban swimmingVisited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 28 March 2024
- Gabriel BBoston, Massachusetts118 contributionsLovely and totally different experience than Plitvice NPLovely and totally different experience than Plitvice NP. Don't skip the mill. Picnic beside it even! You cannot swim here and it would ruin the experience if they allowed swimming, so don't complain, as many reviewers did. Do both this and Plitvice and do the rest of Krka NP, that is a hidden gem! For those late-birds, like us, pay attention to last bus time, you do not want to walk back to the parking lot, it's way too steep!Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 June 2024
- Don H9 contributionsDo NOT miss this! Beautiful sight! Photos do not do it justice. You must visit!I and friends to chartered a sailboat out of and back into Skradin. Upon our return, we took the short ferry from Skradin to the Skradinski Buk Waterfall. We all thought this was just something to do to kill time and a typical touristy thing to do. We were very wrong. It's a pleasant 20 min ferry to the dock at the falls and a short walk to see the base of the falls. Spectacular! Not hugely tall and roaring, but amazing. Walk on the boardwalk that slowly climbs alongside of the falls to where it seems it's the top. Go around the building to see a late 1800s water turbine. We thought that was the end. No! Go up the stairs, more stairs, more stairs to see the old infrastructure of the mills. Then walk along the boardwalk that meanders through the top level of where the falls start. Little falls are everywhere. Crystal clear water- fish, frogs, and wind your way back down to the base. These falls are the most beautiful I have ever seen. My buddies agree.Visited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 5 June 2024

Prior to going, we were already aware that the waterfall could no longer be swum in. Great. However, I was under the impression there were other areas that could be paddled in - spoiler, there are not. These swimming areas are still on the maps along the route and listed in the guide book given at the reception, leading to a false sense of hope. And advertising.
It cost €25 per person to enter the national park. This is the same as the cost to any mediocre childrens theme park. We then joined a queue of people to queue along a boardwalk amidst some admittedly pretty ponds to reach a waterfall. Numerous people wearing flip flops and carrying towels as no one had alerted them to the fact you can no longer swim, however, willingly robbing them of €25.
At the end of the queue there was nothing. Except the most overpriced bottle of water I have ever forked out for.
I would rather have queued with a screaming toddler in peppa pig world - at least you get a amusement ride at the end.
TLDR: save your money and your sanity and go to one of the beautiful beaches in Split or Hvar, or anywhere else in Croatia for that matter, instead

It's relatively easy to get the bus from Split to the Krka National Park although it's best to prebook bus tickets as they get pretty full even though its no longer peak season. You can easily spend either a full or half day at the park but we spent the afternoon just at the Skradinski Buk falls which are beautiful. The entrance ticket includes the cost of the boat trip to the falls & is a great start to the visit. Avoid the food & drink offering inside the park as what's available in the village of Skradin is much nicer & reasonably priced

Lovely time there. Its amazing to see all these waterfalls. The views are amazing and there are so many fish in the pools which are crystal clear.
There are designated walkways to guide you through the park. There are many a view point, however, depending on how busy the park is, you maybe waiting sometime to get to these view points etc.
There are 2 ways to get down to the waterfalls from the car park, 1 is walk, or get a bus. The walk is steep in places, and lots of loose stones and rocks, so watch your footing. We walked down when dry, and it was quite dusty. However, our walk back was in the middle of a torrential down pour, so the climb was a bit slippy.
There are numerous buses to get you to the park and back at a slight cost, but cant remember the cost.
Only drawback was, we entered the car park, and parked next to other cars, only to be asked to move our cars to another area, as Buses were parking there. When we got back to car after visit, the spaces we originally occupied before being asked to move were full of cars, and no buses in sight, so not sure why we were singled out to move?
Obviously there is a cost to enter the national park to view the falls, approx 200 per adult, slightly less for kids.
You can not now swim in the pools, but you can apparently swim in pools further down stream, which we never made to due to the rain.

We loved and were very impressed by this waterfall, and glad we had the opportunity to see it. I reviewed the entire Krka NP experience as a whole in that entry, but to repeat a little, we felt our visit was well worth it, especially given that we visited later in the day in May, when it was busy but not crowded and entrance was only €15. We also knew before we went that swimming was no longer allowed.
The waterfall (or set of cascades, however it's defined) is very beautiful, and the boardwalk/bridge is placed such that you get wonderful perspective on it and allows for great photos. I think this singular view was slightly better than any one view/waterfall we saw at Plitvice Lakes during our visit the following day, although I would call the lakes a more impressive experience than Krka when viewed overall.

If you only get to see one of Croatia's natural wonders (and there are many) then make sure it is this one!. The easiest route is from the Museum direct to the falls, this is mostly flat and accessible but still not for the less mobile. When you get there it is more than worth it. The falls have so many aspects that it does take some time to take them all in. You are particularly well rewarded with views as they have constructed a bridge across the river which also acts as the perfect viewing platform.

From Skradin you can only book a boat trip there and back to Skradinski Buk for 40 euros pp. Before that you were already cheated with a parking space for 8 euros. You are taken off the road while there are free parking spaces further down the road. It is intensive walking around the waterfalls. After a long walk you reach the information stand for visovac and roskiklap. There you will be told that no boats sail to Roskiklap. Continue walking to the jetty for boats to Visovac. We are told that the tickets are available at the information stand!!!!! Tourist stairs first class!!!!!

Since you’re no longer allowed to swim, this is just a quick 2 hour trip and walk around some pretty waterfalls.
Prices inside are extortionate (small water is 3-4Euro.
It is pretty and the walk around the park is real nice, but the cost of getting in does not even nearly get justified by what there is to see.
Picnic spots are limited and the ground is all rock hard and barren.
If you were still allowed to swim here to appreciate the clear water, it would be worth the trip out, but since you can’t do so since 2021, it’s just no longer worth the cost.

It is a beautiful location and really nice to swim in the water. There are lockers to put your things in, and places to buy food and water. It is very crowded, but still worth a visit. It takes a pretty decent walk to get to the waterfall as you must go through all the paths of the park in a one-way direction, walking behind slow tourists taking tons of photos. It is a beautiful walk.

can we see/visit it? how? my husband is not very mobile. Elderly and walking stick. He can walk max 800 meter on quasi even surface. Thanks!

Dear MiadF5841,
this will be very hard. There is a way to see it from above, but you can certainly not make the tour around the waterfall.
Written 31 October 2023
Is the waterfall opened for swimming on July 28? There is a statement that is translated into mangled English and we are not sure if they mean the whole park is closed for swimming or just a portion of it. Please advise, can we swim?
