This is a beautiful little town with great views of the valley below. All of the people there are very friendly and proud of their little town on the mountain. We enjoyed the small museum and the two young people working the desk were very...More

We were on a small tour called the Hill Towns of Istria, yet were quite pleasantly surprised at the charming and scenic hills with fortified towns scattered throughout this area. We spent some time in Motovun (and you don't need more than a few hours),...More

Do plan to walk around when visiting Motovun. The views over the valley below are spectacular. Plan to eat here too, and spend a relaxing day.

The city of Motovun is quite small but really interesting. It's perched on a hilltop right in the centre of the Istrian peninsula. The views are spectacular in every direction. Nice little places to shop & have some refreshments too

It is quite a steep walk even from the shuttle drop off. The village is interesting with some nice restaurants and good quality souvenirs.

If you only have time you see one mountain village in Istria, Motovun is it. Grand views of the surrounding countryside. At least one excellent restaurant with magnificent shaded views, excellent wine, and outstanding cuisine with black truffles. TIP: arrive before 10am to snag a...More
