We hired a young man, Antonio to be our skipper for the day. We found him just by walking around talking to the skippers. He took us in his small boat (2 couples) for the day to the Pakleni Islands, to several restaurants and bars, to Zlatan Winery, and to a delicious place to eat called Konoba Dinis-the Fisherman's House. It was a great day. At night we would walk along the harbor and look at the yachts anchored for the night.

We did a day trip to Hvar from Split with a catamaran. We left at 09:00am and arrived at 10:10 (was meant arrive at 09:50). We bought the tickets online on the boat company website. Hvar harbour and the town itself is like out of a fairytale, beautiful cobbled streets and nice architecture. It is very popular and has tons of visitors. In the evening there are several yachts in the harbour. The walk up to the fortress overlooking the town is about 20 mins and Pokonji dol Beach is about 30 mins away. The catamaran back to Split at 19:50 came from Dubrovnik and it was delayed by 15 minutes.

I fell in love even before I got off the ferry. We stayed three days and would have stayed a month. Gorgeous harbor with boats of every character peppering the turquoise harbor water. A wonderful promenade wanders past restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. A huge square is anchored by a old church which announces each hour by bell. The promenade continues to lead you it of town, along rocky coves and perfect pools to plunge in. Honestly, the energy, the beauty, the ambiance - it’s beyond great. One of my new favorite places.

Hvar is a lovely place to visit.
The Riva harbour is the place to sit and people watch , with great bars and restaurants.
The alleyways and side streets are a maze of little shops , market stalls and local bars which all lead from the harbour and around to St Stephens square and cathedral which is another hub of great bars.
There are lots of lovely walks coastal and inland & great boat trips too .
The Spanish fortress perched high over the town , great views.

Its definately a place to visit , we only had 3 days and wished we had more , so maybe a return visit is needed as we didnt get to do everyrhing we wanted to do.

Day visit whilst on a cruise.
Beautiful town and harbour. Plenty of shops, restaurants etc a short walk away.
Took a walk on a path along part of the harbour.
Very busy place, with ferries stopping on a regular basis.
Would like to return one day.

I was Walking around the harbour I have found it beautiful since the colour of the Dalmatian sea is crystal light blue, you have so many yachts and boats coming into that is very distracting.
There are many shops and restaurants along the sea front ideal to seat enjoy a good glass of wine.

Highly recommended to visit this island one if the main ones in Croatia

The harbour is renowned with famous faces dining at its many restaurants regularly.

The whole town is so attractive with something new and pretty around every corner and a charming little cemetery at the very top.

Be warned it is very steep everywhere but well worth the exertion to climb to the high points. There are some good family run tavernas at the higher levels.
