Vidova gora offers amazing view over all middle adriatic islands. Great hike up the hill, and down. Definitely worth it. But there is no restrooms, or restaurant where you can have a break after being exposed to sun for hours. There is old abandoned restaurant, which is a real shame

My wife and I looked at this and thought we would give it a go. The reviews said to set of early to avoid the heat of the day. Glad we did although it did take over 4 hours in total so was still hot. The path starts steady but then turns to loose rocks and becomes unstable under foot so good walking shoes are needed and you need to be of reasonable fitness. We walked in running trainers which were fit for purpose. It took us 2 hours to get to the top from hotel Elaphusa. At the top there was the most welcome cafe selling all we needed, a cold drink and an ice cream. The views were spectacular and worth the effort.

The descent was more tricky than the climb with the loose rocks one could easily twist and ankle, so. Much care is needed. There are good navigating markers of red and white circles as per attached photos.

We would highly recommend but be aware it is a long hot walk and can at times feel never ending esp in the heat. ( take plenty of water and sun cream )
Enjoy!!

We came here during a cloudy day as it was bit cold for a beach visit. The view is nice, one can see the Zlatni Rat beach and Hvar. The place is reachable by car though one has to be prepared that on the way there and back the road is wide for a single car and thus from time to time one has to go bit of the road to avoid cars going the other direction.

This is a lovely hike with good pathways. There is a shop kiosk at the top for cold drinks, wine, beer coffee and ice cream etc. However please note it’s cash only. Usual to keep in mind when packing no need to have heavy bags of water - you can stock up at the top !

We stopped at the local supermarket before our way up to stock up. We did this in a day trip from Split and arrived about 11 am and departed on the 18:30 ferry - it worked perfectly we arrived did the hike came down and had dinner and drinks. Bol seemed lovely and would of been nice to have an overnight there I think.

You can drive to the top also if you do not wish to hike it. Also I think drive up and hike down etc. It’s probably lovely to see sunset from there. We saw people parked up incl. quad bikes and mopeds.

It took us around 1hr 45 on the way up and 1 hr 15 on the way down. It’s a very hot hike if you go in the summer with limited shade. Pathways are very clearly marked with arrows on rocks to keep you on route no map needed. Defiantly not suitable for strollers, prams or bicycles. Trainers are fine for this hike.

The main views are of Zlanti Rat beach.

This beach is super crowded with water sports, beach bars, food stalls and chairs that there is no way you can see or enjoy the beautiful landscape of this unique beach. We travelled to Vidova Gora in early August which is the most crowded time. I am sure the beach is less crowded in May/June or September. The music from two beach bars near our chairs were constantly competing with one another so you could not even enjoy the music. We travelled as a family with two teenage boys and I expected the beach to be have lots of people and families, food, bars and water sports because it was August but it was too crowded to enjoy.

Lovely views of Hvar, Bol and the Adriatic sea! Easy road to drive too the car park and very short walk to the summit from there, two paths to chosse from either one thats rocky and is right by the edge offering a lovely view all the way up or a smoother path. Only thing is the refreshment van in the car park is incredibly overpriced so don't waste your money. But great views and time!

It was a treacherous 2 hour climb to the top but worth the views. We started just before 8:00 am but I would go even earlier so you don’t have to deal with the midday heat and sun. Make sure to take a couple of bottles of water for the climb. They do have a snack and drink shop at the top.

An amazing view!

We took the catamaran from Split at 09:30 am and arrived in Bol (island of Brac) about an hour later. We booked online from the website of the boat company. We took taxi up to Vidova gora and that cost 400 kuna. Our hike down to Bol took us an 1h 40 mins. We then walked about 20 mins to the Zlatni Rat/Golden Horn beach. And took the catamaran back to Split at 19:00.

One can drive by bicycle or car to the top of the highest mountain in Brac island. From that place there is particularly good view over southern cost of the island especially over Bol town, Golden horn beach and Hvar island. Most of the time there are no tourists therefore it is a quiet place. One can meet some sheep walking by.
