The most beautiful place we visited whilst in China. Not easy to get to, but worth it. Whilst there is an airport, it is limited domestic flights and you need a Chinese passport to book with that airlines. So best bet is to take the bus to Lijang or Shangri-La which is about 5-6 hours long. A great place to... More

Spent 2 days there in November, and I really loved the place! Although spend an 6 hours by mini bus from LiJiang is worth it. Lugu lake water is pristine and clear as you can see the bottom until 10 meters deep... very relaxing with some islets to visit by boat. Beautiful nature and landscapes scenery ...

Difficult to reach, Lugu lake has been able to better preserved his environment. A tour of the lake by Ebike is a must.

Spent 3 days there in May, and I really really love the place! It's about 5 hours driving from LiJiang, but absolutely worth the time. You can just relax and slow down yourself doing nothing, or take a tour around the lake, or go on a boat and drift on the lake, you'll love the scenery and enjoy your stay... More

Lugu lake is the most beautiful lake I have seen. When you wake up and see the sky reflected in the water, is is truly something to behold. This is great for a 2-4 day stay as it is the lake and some towns/villages around it. I have heard there is an airport now, but I went to Lijiang centre... More

Amazing scenery (the best is during sunny day) ! "Lige" is the best town around the lake to stay and for the sunset (best view). There are, there, a lots of hotels, restaurants, souvenirs shops, postoffice, bars and clubs for evening. You can also rent there bicycle and motorbike. I highly recommended you to stay there for 2 nights, first... More

First, must hire a local driver or just share the transport with others. The journey from Lijiang to reach Lugu lake was 5hours without motorway. I paid 150rmb for go and returned. This lake is famous for the Mosuo culture, one of the minority group in China. In Mosuo culture, "Women is always right", before entering the village, the driver... More

After horrible 9 hours on the bus across mountains to the lake, we was arriving just in time when there's bright sunshine and rainbows in the sky after the rain. We went there with four of us and one is Chinese, which that helped a lot to communicate and talk with locals. Renting electronic motorcycle (DianDongChe) seems to be the... More

We had SUCH bad luck visiting here. Firstly, it took us 13hours to get there from Kunming because it had rained so much the side of the mountain had collapsed onto the new road! We waited 5 and a 1/2 hours before we moved anywhere. When we arrived in Lige it rained and rained and rained and rained. It didn't... More
