watch out for the blazing sun while waiting for the show to start, one must wear hat, breathing clothing including scarve, long sleeves cover, maybe gloves, certainly sunblock, and sun glasses. Since it is in high altitude, the air is fresh but the temperature can change suddenly and becomes windy. So hold on to your hat! There is a group... More

The show under the sky at 2pm is way too hot. Most of people needed to wear eyes glasses, hats and holding umbrella throughout the show. The cost of the show is too high with the entrance ticket to the national reserve (130) and the ticket itself(280). The show was not full with English translation so non-Chinese speaking will not... We thoroughly enjoyed the live show seeing the culture of the NAXI. The performance shows different types of local songs and dancing. There are miniature horses with cowboys and great musical numbers. Both adults and children enjoyed the show. The cast is several hundred and the 15,000 snow covered mountain is the backdrop!!

This lavish show employs the local people in an extravaganza that describes some of their culture. Produced by the same director as did the Olympic opening show, it is colorful with costumed, dancing, and singing local actors. The stage is custom made and is intended to have the mountains as a natural backdrop. The clouds were low and we never... More

We were very fortunate to have extremely fine weather to watch this stunning show, especially with the amazing backdrop of the nearby mountain ranges. There are about 500 dancers in total as well as horses. As it is outdoors, typically around midday, beware of the strong sun at altitude so take a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen (the flimsy baseball... More

Its a memorable experience to watch an outdoor performance by local folks representing the different tribal cultures of Yunnan with the mountains as the backdrop which is so very unique and beautiful. The dances and songs itself are mesmerizing to watch and it tells the story of the lives and customs of the different tribes in Yunnan.

Of all my travels in many different countries and having seen innumerable shows indoors and outdoors, this show ranks as one of the very best! The setting is against the splendidly stunning Jade Dragon Snow Mountains-- the performers represent the many different minority tribes of Yunnan, China. The choreography, the written descriptions/explanations, and the very touching music are all part... More

My fren told me she was overwhelmed when she watched this performance. The min I stood there, I know what she meant. The snow mountain as the backdrop, the snow, echo, eagles, ethnic grps coming together, the choreography, music simply overwhelmed me. Zhang Yimou. Indeed. Before I know, I was wiping the tears from my eyes.i thank the security to... More

Director Yimou Zhang designs series of live-action performance. Lijiang Impressions Show is one of them. It is outdoor performance and all actors are local people (minority people). Their enthusiasm and performance could catch your eye easily. If you miss it, you could miss to feel and know local calture part. The show experience and snow mountain tour need combined and...
