The seagull cruise on a huge ferry was the highlight of the Er Hai visit. Seagulls in huge flocks were literally hovering beside us, creating wonderful photo opportunities. The cruise also offers tea appreciation sessions while watching ethnic performance. Enjoyable!

We rented bicycles and scooters to travel from our hotel to the lake, and there are lots of horse-drawn carriages there to get an inexpensive ride. Lovely crafts cooperative store in the lakeshore park.

We drove by the lake and stopped several times to take pictures, at many stops we had a great view on the mountains behind the lake.I liked the trees in standing in the water the most impressive.

Large monotonous lake front. If you want to get near the water you will have to buy a ticket to some thing. Usually costing 90 yuan or more.

This is a poor substitute for West Lake in Hangzhou. The main claim to fame here is sheer size. The elements of city and town around the lake are interesting from the development standpoint, but none are appealing. At this season, the boat trips offered...More

We took a boat across the lake to a small island. The mountain backdrop adds to the experience but the disappointing fact is that similar to the rest of China high rise apartments are starting to appear thereby detracting from its attraction.

HI, I actually did not know the town but I believe those saying Longkan are correct. We just showed the taxi driver Caicun on a map because we thought it was there and she figured it out and took us to the dock. Remember... More
