Maybe in spring...

Not worth it to do in winter. You don't get to see many varieties of butterflies then. Just a lot of walking around. Skip if you have somewhere more interesting to go.

Personally this place is one of Top 3 MUST GO places in Dali for me. There are some stairs up and down but very easy so recommend for all ages. The Springs is one of the must see spots in this park. Cristal clear water make people very clean feeling in this polluted country. You can see butterflies whole year... More

Was with a tour group and was raining when we visited it. A total waste of time & money. The only butterflies you can find are the dead ones being sold as souvenirs in the shops. Its very sad when the park was aptly called Butterfly Spring Park when there is not a single live butterflies there.

At 60 rmb per person this was sad. There were more dead butterflies than live ones. Sad really. The pond with ducks was nice. Bamboo everywhere was nice. The trinket shops you are forced through on the way out are maddening.

No butterfly's and the "butterfly house" was closed. Nice park with an interesting dam of a small stream and at the bottom of the dams lion heads spit out the water. Nothing else of interest and a smaller version of the walkway in Nanjing. Go to Nanjing instead.

I find that there's nothing much to ado about this place but since in Dali, just go have a look. Can skip it if you have better place to visit

Horrid! Butterflies were completely non-existent apart from those pinned-up and dead in the horrible butterly pavilion. Also, the hagglers were out in full force, some so wrinkly that my friend mistook them for witches.

Complete waste of money! The only butterflies I saw were dead and pinned to a wall. Additionally, the hagglers were out in full force selling the same old merchandise and useless trinkets.

Really not worth the trip. Overpriced at 60 RMB with little to see, way too many tourists, poor hygiene and facilities... a classic tourist trap. There are a lot of really beautiful parts of the Cangshan mountains nearby with amazing hiking, beautiful scenery and many more butterflies. Avoid this like the plague and head up the mountain for the real... More
