Just a few hours from Juizhaigou valley, this place is certainly worth extending your stay for another night! It takes around two hours by bus (can be organized by your accommodation) from Juizhaigou. Huanglong is essentially a steep valley in which a river flows down. Over time, this river formed wonderful limestone formations. The pools are filled with crystal clear... More

The valley itself is amazing. There is the cable car with it's never ending queue of tourists bussed in every morning but I'd suggest you forgo that and enjoy the day climbing up yourself as the the climb to the top of the valley is well worth it. The travertine pools are stunning but somewhat ruined by the constant stream... More

We have been there April 8. With kids it is the best to go up and down by rope-way/cable car is recommended, like a other visitor mentioned already. Be careful if you want to re entry the part at the main gate it takes a view convincing words to the gate keeper...... Before we came here we did not know... More

sunny day is better, I went year under cloudy sky with sunshine occasionally. altitude is a problem, so walk slow, and relax. it was crowd, as student summer holiday, it was. even so, the pretty of this nature attraction will impress you. there is a cave under the temple, you might be recommended to walked around.

The place is a little further from the scenic Juizhaigou. We climbed up Huanglong on well maintained wooden pavements. ..The geological landforms of crated lakes is worth a view. There is a shallow waterway and waterfalls in here..You can see natural yellow travertine rocks as bedrock in the lakes and river..Just awesome.

At first glance, we had to walk up to the pools where we can view. Never did finished walking to the topmost point of the attraction due to rain. Indeed it was beautiful due to the amethyst coloured water in the pools. Some of the pools have seemed to dried up. Was cold when we visited in the morning, less... More

Stunning scenery with boardwalks which makes it easy to walk uphill and benches to rest and take in the fresh air and enjoy the scenery. From the cable car station at the top, you need to walk another 2km up to the 5colored pools and you'll be rewarded with spectacular views all round. For those with altitude problems, there is...
