Zhong Cha is an amazing valley with traditional villages and spectacular views. But unfortunately it is becoming a victim of shocking over development. The villagers started with great intentions of "eco tourism" which has ended up being anything but. They built a tourist village and...More

As many reviews say here, the guides who lead the horse for you stop at one point at a buddhist shrine and you have to get off the horse. Without asking me or my girlfriend anything (the two guides spoke anyway 0 english), they gave...More

We enjoyed our 3 hours with the horses. Although a bit disappointed at first that we were walking with the guide who was leading the horse, we soon enjoyed the scenery. For sure our driver got a commission from the place where we rented the...More

Our group of five Americans visited Zhongcha Valley today and opted for the "three-hour" horseback tour @ ¥275/person. it was OK as a diversion from the crowds of Jiuzhaigou, but not esp. authentic or as scenic as we had hoped. The horse concession is a...More

THE SETTING I visited this village with my family in late August 2013, at the end of the Chinese summer vacation. Even then there were very few people, so this will be a very restful place if you're tired of the bus crowds at Jiuzhaigou....More

we rented a car and visited Zhongcha. Quiet, clean, nature and nice people in the Tibetan village that showed us how they dry the mushrooms and peppers and we bought some. They are building some tourist facilities but it is still quiet and original.
