Grew up going here for ballgames even though at the time it took us several hours to get there. Atmosphere was super, the fries were the best and the "Peanut Lady" was so gracious and funny. Haven't been back unless it was for special occasions.

We love Rickwood Field! The history is awesome!! We wish a minor league team would come here and play all the time. This is an awesome place to visit! I wish the benches could talk!

Bringing baseball back to the glory days. We stumbled upon this gem by accident. At first, we explored the outside and then happened to find a gate opened. The caretaken invited us to check out the stadium. SO COOL! It's vintage all the way, even the lettering on the ticket booth and the repros of vintage signs on the backfield... More

New eateries in the neighborhood is making a much nicer destination for a Saturday afternoon visit. But, please use common sense and be aware of your surroundings and of activities around you

Great history. Self guided tour is a little confusing - arrived in the morning - no others around - unsure where to enter. Finally figured it out and walked around - enjoyed seeing it and learning the history. Hope this place is maintained for future generations!

Awesome place to see, step back into the days of Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Rollie Fingers, Reggie Jackson and a plethera of other stars from the past as you walk in the dugouts, stand at home plate and cruise the warning track of the playground that most all of 'em have played...

Take the free walking tour of America's oldest professional baseball park. Walk the same field that has seen the greats from Ddizzy Dean, and Babe Ruth, to Reggie Jackson and willie mays.

Husband wanted to stop and do the free self tour. Neat to see an old baseball stadium- reminds me of going to games when I was young. Lots of history and love the old photos. If you love baseball and in the area- stop by!

And baseball fans! Another one of Birmingham's "hidden gems"! Rickwood is a fascinating place to take tourists who are interested in the early days of the sport of baseball. It feels like you are truly stepping back in time!

My husband loves baseball...so whenever we are near a baseball field he hasn't seen, we go. We've been to Birmingham but never stopped at Rickwood Field. We went last week & had a great visit. With over 100 Baseball Hall of Famers having played there it has many old pics, & other things to see. It is a must for... More
