Dump

This place is a dump and in a dangerous area. If at all possible, avoid being here alone or after dark...sketchy stuff happens...

This is an outdated venue in one of the most dangerous areas in the southeast. When we visited, not only were we shaken down to "protect" our vehicle while parked, we walked by an apartment complex with a car in the pool that had clearly been there for a while.

Yikes, the old girl is starting to show her age. Lots of rust, looks like the erector set steel stadium of bygone years. Still glad I got to visit the historical stadium

Legion Field has seen better days from a cosmetic standpoint. However, I was there for the game not to socialize. The game was great, the food was even better. The workers were courteous and extremely polite. My only compliant would be the PA system. I could not really understand what they were saying.

It has been over 20 years since I watch a college football game at Legion field. The old lady was in pretty good shape, so I thought. My wife who had never been, thought otherwise. She did not know the history, nor have the memories that I had. Granted she is a bit dated (the stadium not my wife), but... More

Just attended a bowl game. Ok...this field is old! However, the hospitality the staff and volunteers extended were exceptional! Thanks for extending wonderful southern hospiltality.

We visited Legion Field for the Birmingham Bowl and had a great time. Sure the venue looks a little worse for the wear, but we were there for the football - and the game was great! I likened it to seeing a game at Fenway, it is a stadium with lots of history and character. The scoreboard is updated and... More

Great stadium. Fun atmosphere. Loved the flag inside the stadium. The bbq nachos inside were yummy. Great customer service from all employees.

First experience with Legion Field was the 2016 Birmingham Bowl. This place does not need to be hosting a bowl. Ladies room was filthy 45 minutes before the game started. No backs on any seats and did not have stadium seats to rent. Sound system so bad you could only hear about every third word the announcer said. City of... More

Another institution in Birmingham! Yes, Legion Field has seen better days, but it brings back such good memories. Once upon a time, the Alabama-Auburn football game was played here EVERY year (before they moved to the individual campuses). High school games still take place here on Friday nights in the Fall. And not to be left out, there is even... More
