Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I loved this park. I drove by it during the day and I didn't think about it much. I'm not from the area but it seemed to be in the not best part of town. I went later in the evening with my mother to go for a walk and we loved it. It is very large and there was a great amount of people doing all sorts of things. Lots of people having fun with their friends. The park lights up at night in a great manner that makes it all very beautiful.

Beginning the tour was 3 plus aisle of reading. This part could have been done better. Once you entered the immersive room it was fantastic. There were a few benches. My thouyis this could have been done in a theater setting or IMAX. Would recommend.

My husband and I would walk over here from the hospital regularly. It is very close to Ronald McDonald house also. It is a nice, clean and large park. People have picnics and take walks and runs around it. There is a little deli and some tables to eat at, also lots of benches to sit on. We really liked this park. There is a coffee shop and a smoothie place right across from it. We were very impressed with how nice this park was and how Birmingham is revitalizing its older areas. I would recommended visiting this park just for a chance to be outside and enjoy the sunshine and to get away from the hospital for a while.

I'm just being honest, I live in Birmingham and I would like to see all people kept safe. Check out Veterans Park, it's next to Jeff State Community College. There are soooo many other safer choices.

We stoppped by Railroad Park after a Barons baseball game recently. There were people everywhere and LOTS of police telling rowdy kids to get out of there. I did NOT feel safe at all. We definitely won't be going back!!

The folks who have commented that this place as scary or filled with 'thugs' probably aren't comfortable with brushing shoulders with people outside their race. If you can handle a vibrant, multi-ethnic, and multi-cultural experience, then you'll love it here.

This place is a phenomenal asset to Birmingham, a wonderful hangout spot, and a true park for all. I recommend bringing a blanket and a picnic (or snack) and enjoying the people watching and cityscape. A favorite activity here are their free evening fitness classes... Thursday night yoga is the bomb.

I confess my bias up front. I worked downtown all my life, and I watched this park come to life from what seemed to be a worthless and worn out piece of land. When I was working, the park became a place to relax at lunch time. Now it is a place to walk and enjoy events on weekends and throughout the year. What will you find? Depends on how much time you want to spend and whether you are walking, riding a bicycle with your kids or just sitting under a tree. Now the whole area around the park is full of places to eat and walk, including the nearby Rotary trail, or pick up a rental bike to explore. Check it out if you are downtown for a baseball game or event at Regions Field across the street.

Thugs with explosives everywhere! I don’t mean a couple of bottle rockets- I mean the kind that blow people’s hands off! No security and police response was pathetic- only 2 officers came for hundreds of Park goers under siege. Imagine firecrackers being set off under small children’s chairs? Gangs of 50+ young thugs running and staring real fires in landscaping everywhere to point the park had to be closed down before prof. fireworks show began. Sad! Dangerous! Hopeless Birmingham.
