Maybe naively we were expecting a quiet raft down the Yulong, away from the busier Li. Instead it was quite crowded with rafts and multiple artificial "rapids", each equipped with local cameramen taking your photo to sell back to you. It is pretty though.

Prepare to get wet as the Chinese love to spray each other with their freshly purchased plastic water guns. The tiny rapids are fun and you can purchase photos of yourself zipping down them. Be sure to stop for the bbq fish, freshly caught in...More

Sounded dull, but actually was good fun. Had a great raft 'driver' who was really friendly and 'suffered' my poor Chinese conversation!

Relaxing and pleasant way to spend hot morning or afternoon. But don't expect to be alone!! Hundreds of rafts and boats on Li and Yulong River. Very hazy at present so could hardly see the surrounding scenery. Could have been on a river anywhere.

It was one of the best experiences in China even though Ithought it would be the Great Wall. I have memories of the bamboo ride which are pleasant and pictures which are amazing. The whole thing is packaged nicely and affordable and the time on...More

A relaxing & beautiful way to see the river, with plenty of stops along the way to take photos. Very enjoyable & worth every penny.

River has many pieces of soft drink bottle. I hate people who left the junk behide. When you travel to this place, please dont distroy them.

The bamboo rafting is a trip not to be missed. The view is fantastic and quaint. Sitting on the raft and soaking in all the scenery of mountains and river is just simply breathtaking.

This was the highlight of my recent trip to China! We organised our raft trip through our hotel instead of via one of the hawkers which swarm around West street, this way we could tailor our trip to include what we wanted and the raft...More

We rafted from near Yangshuo to the bridge by Moon Hill. Please don't make the same mistake as us and raft during the summer holiday high season. We were one of hundreds of rafts on the river with touts at every stop. Each weir you...More

I think the age limit is 64 so I think it's unsuitable for your mum. Such a shame as it's a lovely trip. No idea if they do a shorter trip than the cruise. walking across the rafts to get seated can be hazardous. Hope... More

We didn't use insect repellent when there in early July - we did use sun block though. there is s shade over the raft but still would use some sun block if a sunny day. Not necessary shoes or wipes.

Hi Bikes were free from hotel. Bamboo rafting was RMB150 per person, though this was arranged through the hotel and it may be possible to agree a lower price yourself. It included the transport of the bikes to the... More
