Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unbelievably beautiful place that no one seems to know. Had the whole mountain for ourselves! Views are amazing, especially in the evening before sunset. Easily accessible in around 1h from Yangshuo by rental scooter.

We did this hike with Jack from his own private tour.

With photographic concerns with the direction of the sunlight, we climbed Wu Zhi Hill in the morning and then Xianggong Hill in the evening.

Wu Zhi Hill was a hard slog in hot weather but the views at the summit were stupendous and exhilarating, without any crowds except us.
Totally worth it!

Forget Xianggongshan or Lao Zhai mountain, this is place has the most amazing view and there are not much people. There were less than 10 people when I was there and 3/4 of them were professional photographers. You don't need to jostle for space like Xianggongshan. A 20mins climb up with well paved steps and you will reach the top.

I would climb this over and over again

Lots of steps to go to the top. The view is great if the sky is clear. Also tons of tourists daily. Go early in the morning when the air is fresh.

It's a bit out off the beaten path but well known to our hotel staff in Yangshuo for its unique views over the countryside, with picturesque streams, fields, villages, and the famed karst mountains rising everywhere. Photos from Wu Zhi hill are found in many guidebooks (frontispiece of the Lonely Planet 2017 "Discover China," for example) and websites. Many of these photos are taken at sunset on clear days but it's still beautiful even with the usual clouds and haze that were present when we visited.
The cost in April 2018 was 50 CNY per person. You have to hike up a short 15-20 min path, all on well-made stone steps. They are building several stone buildings at the base of the hike and it seems likely they wish to develop this into a major tourist attraction on the order of Xianggong Mountain or Moon Hill.

We arranged with a kind local driver to pick us from hotel to visit this hill at 4 pm. It took an hour to drive there. Entrance fee is 50 yuan and the place is well maintained with restroom. The steps are wide and we took about 15 mins to climb up to a great view. We decided to stay for sunset view which is about 6.20 pm. Our driver was very kind to let us stay on. There were not many people up there. It is an easy to climb hill with a great view.

It is 800 stairs, with only one rest point, and most of it is not shaded from the sun. The view from the top is worth it. The sunset maybe spectacular, but we went during the day (95degrees!) and with blue skies it is outstanding. You NEED a panorama feature when you go up here otherwise you cannot fully capture it.
