This is a trip that is really worth taking. It is much easier to take the cable car up and then walk down. The view is amazing but the steps are a little tricky in some places so be careful.

We got a lift, which has two levels -1 and 1 (apparently there is only levels 1-2-3 no ground floor). The lift takes longer to get level one than our hotel room on the twentieth floor. A Sunday visit will give you a real perspective of local folks and their activities. They all gather and socialise casually, playing games and street performances by the elderly.

Actually, It's a small hill in Yufeng District. It's one of the most popular local parks. It's free and good for climbing. You can also take the trolley to the summit of the hill, where is one of the best place to view the city.

I enjoyed the cable car up to the peak (40 RMB one way - 50RMB return) and noticed that no cars had the number four on them as this is a very unlucky number in China, they jumped straight from 3 to 5, and then 13 to 15 etc. Amazing views of the city but very steep steps at the... More
