Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are familiar with China then this park is nice but nothing special. Very similar in style to other lake parks in terms of views, plants, facilities and people watching. Good for a morning trip to see the local residents out and about.

Chaozhou West Lake Park is a quiet place. It is the right place to spend some time alone after visiting the West Lake. Don't forget drinking water because a relaxing walk during the day in the summer may dehydrate you.

This is a pleasant lake where you can find some peace from the human tsunami in China. It is a little like the Hangzhou West Lake.

I ran and walked around this park when visiting Chaozhou. As with most urban parks in China, it's a busy place where the locals take their daily exercise and socialize. You can either do a straight line along the lake or you can venture up steps that will take you to the highest point. You can quite easily get confused with the different paths. There seem to be a few loop walks and you can end up walking for miles in what initially seems quite a small park. It's a mature park, with lots of old trees. It's a good place to see the locals and get some exercise at the same time.

There are many lakes by the name of "West Lake" and this West Lake in Chaozhou is not as impressive as that found in Hangzhou. There is nothing much to marvel at in the park actually and the entry fee of ¥8 is not quite worth it.
