Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wandered the street at night when there was plenty of activity. Plenty of local foods as well as artisan goods for sale. Not too crowded and worth a stroll.

The Liyang Street area is a modern development that offers many. many places to eat, drink, shop and sleep. It's exceptionally well maintained and very well designed and finished to recreate a modern "old town" that really works well. They have included an IMAX theatre, but that doesn't spoil the atmosphere. There are wonderful street food vendors offering incredibly good, incredibly cheap meals, as well as countless restaurants. There's also a live open air stage with different performers each evening. It can get a bit crowded at show time. Lots of market stalls too. There's one very old guest house (The Guzo Su) which is an excellent option for staying in Tunxi.

There are new shops mixed in with well-preserved buildings. It was a cool evening and a short great walk. The place was absolutely clean and had koi ponds, mini waterfalls, quaint shops, street food and vendors. There is not much in the way of souvenirs but little curios and oddities. There is an IMAX theater and the place had a very good vibe. We really enjoyed spending a few hours here and there were many places to eat and sit and relax. I highly recommend a stroll and coffee here after visiting Mt. Huangshan as a nice coffee will relax you for your next hiking or sightseeing adventure.

Another ancient street with some nice Hui style buildings but totally commercialised. Some good street food here.

At the western end of Tuxi Old street, there is a 500 year old stone bridge, now only for people and pedicabs, motercycles. Cross the bridge, and after another 200m walk past some rows of shops, you come to what appears to be a newly developed part of town. (Signage identifies this as Liyang Cultural Street) But it is not exact one street. Name probably applies to the entire develped area.

The big surprise is that while most of the buildings here are new (shops, restaurants and even a big modern church, there are preserved old buildings which were open to the public (mainly residences of old salt merchants, perhaps.

At the western end of the "street" (you may have to weave your way thru the complex of buildings, there is a busy road with normal vehicular traffic, Turn left, walk about 200-300m and you reach a big bridge with a 5-roof pavilion & covered walkways.
