Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bishenghua is essentially a curiously-shaped rock with a pine tree growing on its top. The rock resembles a tip of a Chinese calligraphy brush. There are many curious sights on the way up the mountain, but this one happens to be conveniently located right in front of Beihai Hotel (the most formal of the mountain top hotels; it is adorned by a huge poster with Jiang Zemin) and close to the cable car station.

It is a very unique and lovely place to visit. If there is fog or clouds it looks like in a fairy tale.

It was raining when we first got here and it was quite clear to see. After checking in Hotel and came back to the same spot to see it. The raining stopped and the mist, fog and cloud ocean began to flow around. It’s very amazing to see how the peak disappeared in the mist and then appeared again. Both scenes are pretty.

This rock formation is not obvious. When I was there, I happened to see a sign with a picture & explanation. Look out for the rock which resembles the tip of a Chinese calligraphy brush. I just take a photo and move on.

I saw this on my last day on Huangshan.

I was actually on my way out of the park. I had stopped to take pictures of the valley there, because it was so striking!! I noticed that there was a sign talking about the rock formation, and after I read it, I was able to find the real thing.

It is unique, but it doesn't stand out to much. I would only seek this place out if you wan't to see the view of the valley that it is in.

It is a place our guide stopped on our tour of Huangshan mountain. It is unique but perhaps a bit overrated as many tourists groups are there as well. I enjoyed more the spots that aren't littered with selfish tour groups.

The sharp-pointed stone peak, looking a bit like a Chinese calligraphy brush, topped with a small pine tree, is a perpetual attraction for visitors, especially since it is relatively accessible. But... hate to tell you.... it isn't entirely "natural". While indeed a pine tree once naturally grew on the tip of the peak, that tree died some years ago. After allegedly adorning the peak with a plastic pine tree for awhile, park officials managed to successfully plant a new authentic pine on top of the tip. It's "natural" in that it's a real tree, but it didn't get there naturally! Believe me; I know the park officials involved.

If it is not a foggy day, you can see it on the way to Bei-Hai Hotel. Bring the cameras. It is about 150 yards from Bei-Hai Hotel.
