I loved being able to see this iconic old gentleman volcano prominently on the skyline, from lots of places on the atacama. Being a person who loves to get his bearings, it's kind of comforting to see Licancabur when returning from day trips, so I'd...More

I was pretty excited to be booked onto a trip to climb Licancabur, and was reassured by the Atacama Mistica website that although a difficult climb, no previous climbing experience was necessary, despite the altitude. I booked in advance via email, Atacama Mistica weren't very...More

The Licancabur is the main view at the desert. You can see it from almost everywhere and is shared by Chile and Bolivia.

I just saw from a distance. Well from everywhere in San Pedro you can see Licancabur, but some agencies make the tour so you can go to the top, unfortunatelly I din´t have the opportnity to do that.

I couldn't take my eyes off mighty Licancanbur, whether viewed from the Chilean or Bolivian side of the border. It stands at over 18000 feet tall and presides over the spectacular Laguna Verde in southern Bolivia. A remarkable place.
