We will make observation of the deep sky through high-end, computerized and manual telescopes with which we will make an equatorial and azumuthal sweep of the objects visible during the night in Atacama, depending on the time of the year we can observe: planets, open clusters and closed, galaxies and stars. Where we can distinguish its shape and colors with great ease. Add to the explanatory scientific talk of our astronomy guides Patricio and Nathan who seek to dynamically and didactically deliver the scientific information of the universe. We can also relate the visible constellations of the southern hemisphere with the help of a laser pointer. If you like to know about the Andean archeology-astronomy of Latin America, you should ask for an explanation from Patricio, who is the speaker in the explanatory talk about how our American ancestors related the cosmos to the geographical and cultural zone.

I confirm that it can be done by 4x2 car without any problem as of March 2020. Even with medium-sized car. I would definitely recommend!

Emanuel and Carlos from Nortrek were amazing guides, they help us with the right equipamento (he even lended a mountain climbing pants since I was wearing jeans) , they gave us instruction on the climb and were very friendly always during the trip, giving tips and fixing some issues with posture and proper equipment handling. Overall fantastic experience I can only recommend them.

Great hike!! Must do if you’re in San Pedro!! I would advise you don’t book prior to arrival and get a tour when you get here - you’ll pay at least 70% less

I went climbing Cerro Toco with Emmanuel and Ronald from Nortrek agency in San Pedro de Atacama. It was my first time climbing over 5500m, and the guides were attentive and patient, so I had a great experience. We left San Pedro at 8:30 AM and were back at 15:00 PM, after we walked in a slow and steady pace and reached the summit. Before climbing - you should spend at least one day walking above 4000m (and even then - take it slow).

We hiked to the summit of volcano Toco at 5610m with guides Leon and Ronald from Nordtrek. We had a group of 7 of which 5 reached the summit and two made it to nice view points before attitude made it unsafe for them to continue. The guides ensured that the pace was slow and safe. I was the slowest of the five that reached the summit and at no time felt pressured by anyone. When a break was necessary due to effects of attitude Leon was particularly good at making an assessment of risk and at the same time keeping up an interesting commentary to keep group chilled and calm. The day started around 8am with particular attention paid to ensuring that everyone hard the necessary equipment. The whole day was fun and safe. We were back at our hotel by 4 pm.
