This is a little gem which, although small, is effective. The display, in a geodesic dome, comprises a circle of displayed meterorites of different types and histories. A screen by each exhibit gives a video display and headphones have a commentary in a choice of languages. In the centre are cabinets with arm-holes enabling visitors to feel various meteorites, check their magnetism and feel the weight of those light enough. The Atacama is an ideal place for finding meteorites because there are ares with no vegetation or disturbance and the very low humidity prevents oxidation and erosion. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It is possible to buy various small examples found locally.…

This was the most amazing place to visit. Located at the edge of town, in what looks like a giant yurt, the contents and quality of the exhibits and the story they tell is incredible, covering the origins of the solar system to recent finds of meteorites. Great use of technology and interactive systems, thoroughly recommended.…

We loved this little museum! The audioguide unfolded the story of different kinds of meteorites, how they were formed, and how they were found. And then a guide spoke with us at the end about how to identify whether or not a "rock" you come across in the desert is a meteorite or not. All in all a very pleasant visit.…

Small museum, about 30 mins to go through but very good learnings and super interesting meteorite samples. Highly recommend! On-site expert answered questions with great detail
