We had never seen flamingos, so we were really happy about this stop in the Piedras Rojas tour. It was truly amazing. There is located in a salt flat, so the view is glorious. There are so many flamingos in the Laguna Chaxa that you...More

The reserve provides great opportunities to see 3 types of flamingoes in their natural habitat. It has been designed for tourists to get within 10m (subject to barriers) without disturbing them. There are also paths to walk into the unique salt formations in the area....More

This nature reserve is definitely worth a trip. The flamingos are amazing, but you can't get too close. The surrounding views are also great.

This huge salt lake hosts many birds. I was fortunate to see flamingos on the wing and a number of other birds. The salt is surprisingly lumpy as the water rises and falls, so don't expect super flat plain. Amazing sunset.

Great to see the flamingos and enjoy the backdrop the centre is developing and the local staff are trying to maintain an area to help protect the flamingos

Lots of Famingoes, different subspecies of them as well. Very very dry area, so bring water along as skin and lips tend to dry out fast. The colors of the flamingoes are amazing and seeing them fly is also very beautiful.
