This huge area has one of the most spectacular nature I have ever seen. Blue Lagunas, flamingos, salt formations, rocks, sand, volcanos, snow, blue sky, and more. Among the Lagunas, the most spectaculars are Miscanti & Minique at 4.200 meters, Chaxa (flamingos), Tebinquinche (color contrast)....More

Must go place in the area. You will see flamingos, and a vast area of salt (white crust to the horizon). If you go before sunset you can experience many beautiful colors in a few minutes. You will enjoy it!

This was part of a full day tour which we took with Agencia Turismo Layana which we booked though Denomades.com. Layana was a great tour company. The guide was excellent. He explained everything and some. He spoke equally English and Spanish. We really enjoyed him....More

We've all seen flamingos in the zoo, but not many get to see flamingos in their natural habitat - you can here! You will be able to see them from up close, as near as 5 meters. The walk is easy in the reserva and...More

The lagoon is beautiful and seeing flamingos is always nice. If you haven't been to Salar de Uyuni before it might be something new and incredible for you, if you have, it's not so different

Having been to Laguna de Chaxa earlier in the morning we moved on to this area. There were beautiful views of the lagoons and mountains. Unfortunately the birds were a little further away so very difficult to photograph.

Bring a picnic for the sunset, enjoy watching flamingos. It is close to the town, so it can be done in 2-3 hours.

How pristine is this! I love that it is protected and cared for by the aboriginal peoples. There were not a lot of flamingoes when we were there but they are so interesting to watch. We only saw the Andean type. It is so relaxing...More

This place is a must and is an easy drive down from San Pedro. It costs 2500 peso per person to get in and you will probably only spend an hour but it’s worth the trip for photography and the surrounding landscape and the flamingoes.
