We had a superb guide from our hotel, Tierra Atacama, for this four hour tour and is an absolute must when visiting the Atacama. Incredible place and you really feel as though you are on the moon! Geology there is so interesting

Katherine, I was driving a rental car, so I did not take any tour. Anyway I would definetly reccommend being there during the sunset. I´d plan arriving there in the afternoon around 3:00PM should be fine.

There are no hotels inside the Valley itself, but rather they are all based in San Pedro Atacama which is a 5 minutes drive away.
